Default Are you a fan of Guy Gardner headlining Red Lanterns?

I think it's a little bit neat that each one of the "4 Musketeers" have their own book but... do you feel like Red Lanterns has benefited from Guy Gardner?

I think he's great on the book but he really kind of seems like a wrecking ball to what the Red Lanterns were doing beforehand and what they're kind of supposed to be in general.

I picked "I did, but now it's getting old". My feeling was initially, "This is a dumb idea", but it grew on me until I was actually enjoying it...but I feel like it has run its course now, I guess.

That's a problem with the Reds, really. In order to be a Red, you have to be an angry character. That has to be your defining characteristic, really. But when you take an angry character and start giving them character development, the result is almost invariably them being less defined by their anger, which makes them less of a fit for the Reds. So either these characters have to be stuck as eternally defined by anger, or else we wonder why they are still functional Red Lanterns.

It kind of harkens him back to his Warrior days a bit, I think, though it feels less like this was ever planned and more like... you know, ratings were down on DS9 so it's like, "Let's bring on Michael Dorn as Worf as a series regular!"

Rankorr seems kind of redundant with Guy. And Atrocitus as kind of the prevailing leader figure above it all creates a strange dynamic with Guy... I dunno... I'm fine with it, but I really want to love the idea.

Yes i love it.
The book went from crap to good in an instant because it had a character i actually cared about in it.
Like Andrew said it kind of feels like his Warrior days, speaking of which is that still canon ?
If this ends Guy should get his own book, but for now i can stick with the Red Lantern stuff just a little bit longer.

I agree. I'm bummed that he quit the RLC. I also liked Kara's run as a red.
