Skilled craftsman Tonino Valerii has died at the age of 82. Valerii was hired as an assistant director by legendary filmmaker Sergio Leone early in his career. He became a genre specialist, contributing some of the best loved entries in the spaghetti western cycle including 'Day Of Anger' (1967), 'A Reason To Live, A Reason To Die' (1972) and 'My Name Is Nobody' (1973). The 1970s would prove to be a successful period at the box-office and Valerii drew praise for making the unusual giallo 'My Dear Killer' (1972). His willingness to provide uncredited script contributions made him a popular figure within the industry.

Underground filmmaker Ted V. Mikels has died at the age of 87. He was a major figure in independent cinema who melded together elements plucked from all manner of genres, sometimes performing camera duties himself. Some of his best loved pictures deployed cosmic fashions in garish colours behind his trademark tacky veneer.Last edited by Mister.Weirdo; 10-18-2016, 05:26 PM.
