He might be my favorite DS actor. Willie's not the best character, but he sold it so well that you could really feel sorry for the guy despite his weaselly aspect.

Also one of his daughters was on the helicopter with him, and perished as well. Dreadful news.

Man... as a long-time Lakers fan, this hits hard. Iron Man Kobe was my avatar for the longest time on this board. The only other celebrity passing that affected me like this was when Michael Jackson died. Making things worse, his daughter Gigi was on the helicopter with him...

RIP, Black Mamba.

I was out on Sunday morning, and it didn't seem very foggy. But I don't know how much fog helicopter pilots can handle. Also on the tape the air traffic controller told the pilot he was flying too low just before radio contact was lost.

John Andretti carved out his own niche in one of the world’s most successful racing families.

He became the first driver to attempt the Memorial Day double. He won on dirt tracks, street courses and superspeedways. He won an endurance race, competed in dragsters and became an iron man in IndyCar and NASCAR. And he used his platform and passion for racing to help others.

On Thursday, after a three-year battle with colon cancer, Andretti died at the age of 56.

Andy Gill, guitarist and founding member of the seminal post-punk band Gang of Four, has died. Surviving bandmates John Sterry, Thomas McNeice, and Tobias Humble took to social media to announce the news. “His uncompromising artistic vision and commitment to the cause meant that he was still listening to mixes for the upcoming record, whilst planning the next tour from his hospital bed,” the band shared. NME reports that Gill had contracted a “short respiratory illness” that left him hospitalized in the final moments of his life. He was 64 years old.

My mom broke the news right before dinner; I told her Gene Reynolds had passed.

Sad time indeed. Gonna have to rewatch The Vikings sometime soon in memory of Douglas's passing.

Undoubtedly one of all the time great intense actors ever. RIP to a legend. I think I'm gonna rewatch Ace in The Hole, which is a movie that is still as prevalent as ever.

Always liked him in everything I've seen him in, but my personal favorite is his take on Doc Holliday in Gunfight at the OK Corral.
