Yeah, I'll have to check this one out as well.

Looks like 'The Hitcher' John Ryder / Deathwish / Punisher all rolled into one.

Hall Pass is heavily promoting the movie with tons of commericals. It looks like it will be this year's Hot Tub Time Machine.

So I'm watching the Oscars and I see the TV spot for Super 8. It doesn't look as impressive as I imagined it. It looks like a family film along the line of E.T.

Although I don't have an erection to see this flick, I am looking forward to seeing it. It's like a mashup of anime, The Matrix and Alice in Wonderland. I plan to see it on opening night.

Script Delays Puts 'Star Trek' Sequel Before Jack Ryan For Chris Pine And Paramount

Quote:
Paramount Pictures has scrapped a tentative plan for Chris Pine to resuscitate the Jack Ryan franchise before he reprises his James T. Kirk role in a Star Trek sequel. The slow process of nailing the Ryan script has prompted the studio to focus on getting Pine at the helm of the USS Enterprise first, even as the studio waits to see if JJ Abrams will reprise as Trek director.

This comes after the Ryan picture suffered another creative setback. Steve Zaillian, who wrote the 1994 Ryan film Clear and Present Danger and did uncredited rewrite work on Patriot Games, made a deal last month to rewrite the reboot script but had a change of heart and withdrew within the last two weeks. The studio has begun interviewing other writers. Lost's Jack Bender is still aboard to direct, but he isn't pay or play and could walk. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing. Ryan was created by Tom Clancy in his bestselling book series, but the new film is an origin story that started with screenwriter Hossein Amini. Paramount then acquired the Adam Cozad spec script Dubai and hired Cozad to redraft it to be the Ryan relaunch. Anthony Peckham then came on to do a pass, and then Cozad was brought back to a project that by then was being called Moscow. The launching point of the film is one that gets a mention in Clancy's The Hunt for Red October, in the book and the original film that starred Alec Baldwin. It has to do with a terrifying helicopter crash that nearly killed Ryan when he was a 23-year old platoon leader in the US Marines. He was the only member of the platoon to survive. Insiders tell me that an OK version of Ryan could have been put into production this year, but the priority is more about launching a new franchise then filling a release slot.

Paramount's expectation is for the Star Trek sequel to start production by the fall so that the studio can keep that film's projected June 29, 2012 release date. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof are are working on the script.

It' Finally Happening

Quote:
Warner Bros. is seems to be looking at the way Marvel is ramping up to The Avengers by building an on-screen universe through standalone movies starring superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America and Thor.

Jeff Robinov, president of the Warner Bros. motion picture group, sat down with the Los Angeles Times and revealed that WB wants a Justice League movie to hit theatres by 2013. He also said that the studio plans to "reinvent" Batman following the events Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.

- DC
The JLA will hit theatres in 2013.

The long-in-development Justice League movie is a priotity for the studio, with a new script currently in development. George Miller was set to direct a JL movie in 2008, but that project stalled due to several factors, one being studio's concerns over "presenting a competing (and conflicting) version of Batman while director Christopher Nolan's films were breaking box office records."

So what is Batman's future? Nolan's departure from the series after Dark Knight Rises presents a challenge that Robinov has a plan for. "We have the third Batman, but then we'll have to reinvent Batman," Robinov said.

"Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is."

The studio is also reviving Flash and Wonder Woman projects, with the intention of spinning them off after the Justice League film. Robinov doesn't see any conflict between the Wonder Woman film and a potential big-screen version, pointing to the fact that Superman Returns came out while Smallville was on the air.

So the JLA will hit theatres (fingers crossed) in 2013. And Batman will be reinvented following TDKR with Nolan and his wife still overseeing that project. Guys, we know you have opinions about this. Unleash your all-caps fury on the Comments section!
I am glad to see they are finally doing a JLA movie, and bringing it out in 2013, no less. But I am quite sad they aren't doing a flash movie first. And I hope the Batman reboot isn't too different from the Nolan Saga, because if the go ''Superman Returns'' with it, I will punch someone

News of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

Quote:
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is getting some serious genre street cred with its latest casting announcement: Leonard Nimoy, the original Mr. Spock, will lend his voice to the sci-fi opus. Watch out for possible spoilers below.

EW reports that Nimoy will voice Sentinel Prime, "the predecessor of Optimus Prime whose wrecked body is seen in the teaser trailer, found crash-landed on the moon by the Apollo 11 astronauts in 1969. Later, after being brought to Earth, he takes the disguise form of a fire engine in the movie's massive, climactic battle through Chicago."

As the site points out, this isn't Nimoy's first robot-in-disguise outing. He voiced Galvatron back in 1986's celebrity-studded The Transformers: The Movie.

"Transformers filmmaker Michael Bay had toyed with the idea of inviting him to play a voice in the second movie, Revenge of the Fallen, but wasn't sure he could pay the veteran actor enough," says EW. "'I was too scared to ask him,' the director says. 'Plus, he's married to Susan Bay, who's a cousin of mine. So I had to be careful.'"

Bay and Spock are cousins? That's Hollywood!

Right on! Spock was Galvatron, so it's nice to have him back in with the Transformers.

I wonder what it would have been like if Mel Gibson was in the movie, or if they do a quick reshoot and throw in Charile Sheen.
