Default Gargoyles Clan Builders vol 2/Bad Guys trade coming this summer!

*thanks to Lumpmoose from Newsarama for the image*

and from Ask Greg:

TRADE NEWS!!!!!

Today, I e-mailed Dan Vado at SLG, asking about the two trades. Here's his response:

Hey Greg,

I was going to be emailing you this week.

Gargoyles I have scheduled for July, and that looks good for Comic-Con. Bad Guys I have scheduled for August and it a possibility for comic-con, but not a lock.

The Gargoyles trade will be in the May issue of Previews, I cannot stress enough that the fans really need to come out of the wood work on this one (not that they were in the wood work, but you know). They need to be "annoying" (i.e. pushy with retailers) as they can be because with the economy what it is right now nothing short of a huge groundswell of apparent demand wll get some of these guys (comic retailers and regular booksellers alike) to even buy a single copy. I am not a fan of getting people to be annoying, but this is going to be a case where it is needed.

Likewise Bad Guys (June Previews) will need an even BIGGER boost. I separated them because I did not want them to cannibalize each other sales-wise.

There you go, hope all is well with you...

Dan

So, for those of you hoping for more, or just finding out about it, tell your retailer you want these books, demand them if you must, and show your support, if you love Gargoyles. the 8 issues of the main book and 4 of the mini they released were good, and these trades have the rest, ready to show Disney whether or not they should go on.

Indeed it is, and it's exciting that the trades hold issues that weren't even released. But, I hope many people get these, so Disney can be convinced to let SLG continue to put them out, as Disney has no plans to.

Original, canon stories from the creator of Gargoyles, ignoring Goliath Chronicles, thankfully. The first arc, Clanbuilders, is 12 issues long, and had 8 issues released before they stopped, but they are releasing the last 4 issues in this new trade.

A mini, Gargoyles: Bad Guys-Redemption was also put out, 4 issues of 6 before stopping. Think a Gargoyles Suicide Squad. And, if it sells well, they plan to put out more minis, Gargoyles: Pendragon (With King Arthur's adventures) and Gargoyles: Timedancers (Brooklyn's travels in the future, which, according to the titles of the issues 10 and 12, seems to imply that it occurs in modern Gargoyles time there).

Worth supporting, Greg Weisman put years into the series, and years more trying to continue it and going to a Gargoyles con, even. Can't let Disney ruin this for us.

Disney's management has been trying to ruin it for years. From I understand, they've never forgiven him Weisman for turning what was supposed to be another kiddies show into something truly epic and unheard of in televisied animation. It's network/studio politics like this that make me wonder if my current path to getting a job in the entertainment industry is indeed the correct one...

Well, if you do find the right company, or take creative control from Disney and make them better, then I'm all for it.

But, on the comic issue, have you read? If so, what did you think of his mostly unedited run? He was able to get away with a lot he wasn't able to in the animated series.
