This makes me sad I gave away 70% of my TMNT toys. I had a Shredder that you could take his mask off, and like 18 foots.

I would LOVE it, but I'm just not crazy about the mask. Other than that, perfect.

This is part of what Playmates will be putting out for the TMNT 25th anniversary soon. I suppose they're trying to give NECA some competition in the way of comic-based figures? Honestly, I think I much prefer the NECA sculpts over these. Playmates is also planning to release Shredder, Splinter and Foot Soldiers with this line and each comes packaged with a comic, apparently.

Info came from this article at TNI. They also make passing mention of plans for toon related figures.

This might be interesting, since Playmates almost never releases any quality toys.

The first of the TMNT 25th Anniversary figures are hitting stores. I saw the first wave at Target this afternoon. However, they aren't new toys. They're reissues of the original four turtles from 1988 and each one comes with a DVD of an ep. from the cartoon (though I didn't bother to look to see if it specified which cartoon). Also of note is the back which shows Splinter, April, Casey Jones, Bebop, Rockstead, Shredder w/Krang, Slash and a Foot Soldier.

Found some pics here.
