So five years in the future, does the book still suck?

No. This is a future that will never come to pass.

Haven't read GL in months, not only cause I don't like the writing but I'm not a fan of Tan's artwork at all. Now Martin Coccolo's art however I do really like, so if he was the series regular I might consider picking up GL again.

Well, being a GL completist, all the GL Future's End are a no brainer for me, but I'm still undecided on what else I want and how many 3D covers.

I'm only getting ones for titles I already collect, and I told my FLGS that I don't really care that much about the 3D. I'm willing to pay the extra for it for the few titles I'm getting, but I told them if they don't have enough 3D to go around I'm more than happy to just take the 2D version.

I think that's pretty much how I feel, but since I get about 20+ New 52 books a month and since I'm not reading the main Future's End story I may use this as an opportunity to have a smaller-comic month (as opposed to last September when I got every villain book). I feel the same about the 3D. I'll try to get them for key issues like GL, but if I miss 'em I miss 'em.

Yeah, if I was getting that many books, I'd be choosy, too. I think, of titles that will be involved in this, I get maybe 6 or 7?

Future's End is a terrible storyline for me because you don't know what DC will be like in 5 years. Armageddon 2000, anyone?

As for the plot, equally single-lined and uninspired. Five years later they're still regurgitating old story plots?

I'm with you on that. Last year I got lucky and there were only 4 GL issues. This year DC got smart and put out one for every existing Lantern title, so 5 out of 5 September themed issues.

I wish I had the mind not to get this, I don't like Krona Jr at all and they might as well have been using Scar in place here. Interesting to see Hal and Relic having to team up though.

Well, I managed so far. Of the New 52 titles I only picked up Future's End issues for GL and Earth 2 (because it's a GL title). The only non-GL title I plan to pick up is the Harley issue because the wedding thing intrigues me.

After reading it, I only felt empty at the plot storyline and "no hope" conclusion. Has everybody forgot Relic's main emphasis of getting rid of all emotional light powers, everywhere?

1/3 to 2/3 of the comic book was about Hal Jordan and his relationship with a certain person (here's a hint: it's not Carol, no matter how much violet energy was used). More rules about the rings were broken. No other GLs in sight. Superior artwork, but so obviously a "one-shot" in plot.

One star.

Awful issue, because it was so pointless and contradictory. I feel bad that Venditti got forced to shoehorn this in.

I was expecting a connection from Futures End #0 or perhaps something to do with the on-going Futures End series though I am not following it. But it was just a story 5 years ahead. I was ok with the story and the art was good.

Yep, which is why I now feel okay skipping all but the GL (and Harley) FE titles this month--save some money for something else for a change.

Just read it. What a waste of an issue. Just a story that doesn't matter about a future that will never come to pass. And not even a good single issue story. Pretty much tells me the whole month is going to be a big pass.

I liked the joke about micro-brews. Back when I drank, my stepdad called me a beer snob for not drinking domestic, so it made me smile.

I hope this will eventually happen otherwise I don't see the reason for coming up with this story.

Nothing "x number of years in the future" will ever come to pass. Comics 101. This is just a gimmick month to get people to spend money on the purty covers.

And as fans, we bought it. This month's comic should have been an 44-page giant issue (as opposed to the old 80-page giants in the past), and packed so much action into it, we could have been talking about it for months. Show the entire GLC in it. Show the new Templar Guardians. Make it a prequel to the future GL #20 showed us.

Instead we get a psychoanalyst therapy session, an old threat rehashed with a different old villain, and a stilted ending. Bah. Humbug.

Waste of money on this one.
