Default This is how it started...

I wound up collecting Hawkman/Hawkgirl figures first...

DC Direct JSA Hawkgirl, DC Universe Classics Hawkman, DCD Showcase Hawkman, a repainted Marvel Legends Angel figure (he's not completely finished), DCD CoIE Alexander Luthor (that I'm not finished with yet either), DCD All-Star Hawkman (with added bracers and Magik's Soulsword), DCD Justice League of America Hawkgirl (she nabbed a spear from Kingdom Come Wonder Woman).

DCD Brightest Day Hawkgirl, DCD 1st Appearance Hawkman (with a Narnia figure's sword), DCD Justice Hawkman, DCD Infinite Crisis Hawkman (Aquaman's stolen trident), DCUC Golden Age Hawkman (with some added bracers and a random spear).

Hawkman from the DC Direct two-pack (with Green Arrow's bow and arrows), an CoIE Qwardian Warrior redone as a Thanagarian Warrior custom, DCD Justice Hawkwoman (with Total Justice Azrael's flaming sword), NEW 52 Hawkman (boo), DCUC Hawkgirl.

DCD Kingdom Come Hawkman (second one I've had that same wing fall off), Brightest Day Hawkman, "The Batman" Hawkman, Hawkgirl from the DC Direct two-pack with a Narnia figure's shield.

Superman/Batman - Public Enemies Hawkman (my fav), The Avengers: United They Stand Falcon repaint, a variation of the post-Hawkworld Hawkman custom, DC Armory Supergirl/Flamebird repaint (her wings are white and hard to see here), Total Justice Hawkman (with a button I got at a con as a buckler).

A mix of DCIC and JLU Thanagarian Warriors and Hawks, up top is a Jack Knight/Starman statue, an Eaglemoss Hawkman, Hawkman from a Jack-in-the-Box promo, a Kevin Matchstick/Mage statue, an Eaglemoss Power Man, and some LSH Heroclix.

Endnote:

I'm "missing" Young Justice Hawks. I've gathered some fodder pieces so maybe one day. Plus, I have some other random custom Hawks in mind to kind of flesh out the ranks of the Hawk Army. Warhawk from "Batman Beyond" is high on the list.

Then I sort of got stuck on "Robins"...

An Arkham City (?) Robin, Kingdom Come Red Robin, Young Justice Robin, Damian Wayne, Superman/Batman-Public Enemies Nightwing (super cool), DKR Carrie Kelly, Power Attack Robin, CoIE Earth-2 Robin, Batman and Son Robin, DCUC Dick Grayson (Yes, he has a Red Lantern for no good reason except as a teaser of things to come).

A Red Hood/Jason Todd would make my heart beat faster. Not the DCUC one though. That's a travesty to humanity. One day I be brave enough to try my hand at the "Under the Hood" Jason.

Stuff I liked without a real reason...

Superman/Batman-Public Enemies Kingdom Come Superman, The Avengers: United They Stand Wonder Man, Sheen as Ultra Lord ('cause Sheen is the best), DCD Apollo and Midnighter, a Marvel Legends Atomic Steed (awaiting a classic Hawkeye), and a bust of The Guardian from Alpha Flight (I was going to collect busts of flag oriented characters but then didn't; still may).

I bought KC Supes with the idea of making him into the Thanagarian diplomat on the cover of World of Krypton #8. He's just a sweet figure as he is. The height and everything just feels like a Superman figure should to me.

Those "Honor Guard" Hawkmen on the WoK cover are on my to-do list. Plus, I'm now thinking a KC Aquaman would work better for making the diplomat (?)

These are figures I bought to customize but wound up liking them...it's a trend I guess.

DCUC Jemm - Son of Saturn, DCUC Martian Manhunter, DCUC BAF Ares, Marvel Legends Hercules, DCUC OMAC, DCD Justice League of America Geo-Force, DCD Flashpoint Cyborg, DCUC Red Rocket, and Marvel Legends Ultimate War Machine.

This started out as a collection of archers and then became this...

Young Justice Red Arrow, DCUC Red Arrow, Young Justice Aqualad, Brightest Day Aquaman, Young Justice Artemis, Young Justice Sportsmaster, Young Justice Kid Flash, New 52 Flash, Marvel Select Movie Hawkeye, and Brightest Day Green Arrow.

Aqualad messed this shelf up. I bought him for constructs for my Blue Lanterns and then bought Kid Flash as well.

I would like to do a custom YJ Arsenal to go with the Red Arrows and Young Avengers Kate Bishop with a "classic" Hawkeye. Ugh, more archers. I need some Huntresses too.

A legacy of stars and sand...

DCD JSA Starman, DCD LSH Starboy, DCD JSA Stargirl, DCUC Jack Knight/Starman. DCUC Ted Knight/Starman, DCD Sandman (woot), and DCD JSA Sandman.

I would love to do customs of the Three-Boot Starboy, David Knight/Times Past Starman, and the 1952 Starman at some point. Oh, and a Shade. And the O'Dares. And...

Spies and such...

Batman Legacy (?) Catman, DCUC Owlman, custom Gabriel Jones/SHIELD agent*, Avengers Movie Wal Mart Hawkeye, Capt. America Movie Nick Fury, custom Clay Quartermain/SHIELD agent*, Marvel Legends Steve Rogers/Super Soldier (with the translucent shield), Marvel Universe Rocket Racoon (Hell's yeah!!), and DCD Diana Prince.

I don't know why I got these. It seemed like a nifty idea at the time. All the other SHIELD figures are so expensive. The Diana Prince was going to be Agent Brand of SWORD but I fell in like with the fig as is.

*Marvel Legends Nick Fury bodies with head swaps.

Lastly, before I get into the board relevant figures...

The Legion of Super Heroes

A mix of DCUC and DCD. I missed the DCUC 12-fig box set and have been slowly gathering them as I can. I think I'm only missing Wildfire, Proty, and Superboy. I wouldn't mind a newer Cosmic Boy as well, but i would repaint him with his 70s swimsuit costume.

Mordru keeps falling and has broken his wings on his hat. Brainiac 5 and Supergirl keep falling down as well. I keep finding them in odd positions.

I have a GL Mon-El is the pipeline and am starting to plan the rest of the Fatal Five.

Pay no attention to the green blobs on the right. As soon as I decide how to post those, I will. We had to install "stadium risers" five levels high to fit all the GL Corps. Not to mention the rest of the Color Corps.

Starting with the Red and Orange...

Most are recognizable. The guy floating on the wall back there is an "X-men: Evolution" Magneto that I thought would make a good base for a GL Animated Series Razer but (once again, I liked the fig as is).

The elephant guy is a Todd McFarlane figure and is meant to be a counterpart to Brother Warth. I think it's a cool idea but I'm not totally happy.

The MODOK head is going to be Zilius Zox if I ever get a Dremel.

Front right is The New God Orion who seems to have lost his Mother Box. Still getting a grasp on that guy too.

Why has nobody else thought of Red Lantern Orion before?

Sinestro Corps reporting:

In the front row from the left - This guy got his hand chopped off for some reason and uses ring power to replace it. The hand is translucent; Next to him on the right is a young GL that was assimilated by a Starro and put into service of Sinestro; DCUC Low; the main guy - Sinestro; Mash; Karu-Sil; and Zorn (just because).

In the second row from the left - Batman; a Bizzarro Lantern; Superboy Prime; Scarecrow; Cyborg Supes; Amon Sur; Romat-Ru.

In the third row from the left - Kryb; Mongul; a bunch of Manhunters; the Anti-Monitor; Arkillo.

Color me Saint Walker:

Usual cast except for the New God Lightray that needs some touch up to his base cost before getting some pretty, pretty blue paints.

Saint Walker, Brother Warth, and Halfies Hal all have constructs that came for the aforementioned YJ Aqualad. Flash has a construct that was taken off some iceman figure. Seems to work.

I added a Kingdom Come Blue Beetle because I liked the look of the figure and he is....blue.

Indigo-1, Munk, Atom, and Kingdom Come Nightstar. I figure she is primal.

Sometimes, looking at all the stuff others are doing, it can be incredibly intimidating in a "their mods are so cool" kind of way.

^Yep. That's pretty much the reason I haven't done it yet. Well that and not really wanting to spend a lot on the base figures.
