The stripper who doesn't strip.

SC is very adaptable and that story is the best they didn't cover, imho.

^That just might be a first day one for me. If it turns out Peppermint Patty and Marcie are in, the deal is sealed.

I think so too, but they were added over a decade after the original strips and if you ranked the most important characters they'd probably come 8th or so.

Possibly. But I expect at least 8 characters in a feature film.

So, you think Linus and Lucy will make the cut, eh?

doesn't matter, they may not be the star of the movie but they'll be in it one way or another (just look at the Simpson's movie)

EDIT: Dang. Apparently Brad Bird ISN'T confirmed yet as directing. The Newsarama article is the only one saying he has any confirmed role, so I take it with a grain of salt. If they do it without him, my excitement will morph into extreme nervousness, since he has long expressed his willingness to direct a sequel if the story was good enough. If he isn't at the helm (and I can't imagine they wouldn't at least ASK him) that will make me wonder about the script...

Of course, we are also getting Cars 3...

I'd say my top 10 most likely to be included (with several of them being tied at CERTAIN in my mind) are Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Sally, Woodstock, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Pig-Pen, and Schroeder.

I know there are several others (Violet, Frida, Shermy, Franklin- who might make the cut due to diversity considerations, I suppose), some of which may even have appeared in more strips (I've no idea), but they made very little impression on me.

EDIT: All this is contingent on Brad Bird being confirmed as director.

Yeah, I hope Bird is back, but excited for now.

Hmm. With the announcement of Cars 3, maybe I'll give up on my plans to collect every Pixar movie. I was only going to buy Cars 2 (eventually) because at that point I'd have every other Pixar feature, but if they keep crapping out more Cars movies, I may as well quit.

Funny, I was putting the list together in my head and I thought the same thing about Franklin. He's really a very late and more background character, but he might make the cut just to show a little color in the mix.

Well, I expect I'll be stuck getting it, as the kids really enjoyed both previous Cars movies (and honestly, while it wasn't in the top ranks of Pixar films, I found the first Cars to be enjoyable enough. It was the second that just seemed forced and truly lackluster to me) and I imagine they will like the third as well. I mean, I'd be surprised if it actually was measurably worse than Cars 2... we're still talking Pixar here.

GHOSTBUSTERS 3

Quote:
Deadline spoke with Ivan Reitman, originally planned to direct "Ghostbusters 3," about the decision to step down from the director's chair and produce the movie instead.

"It’s a version of 'Ghostbusters' that has the originals in a very minor role," Reitman said of the script by Etan Cohen. "When I came back from Harold [Ramis'] funeral, it was really moving and it made me think about a lot of things. I’d just finished directing Draft Day, which I’m really happy with and proud of. Working on a film that is smaller and more dramatic was so much fun and satisfying. I just finally met with [Sony's] Amy [Pascal] and Doug Belgrad when I got back. I said I’d been thinking about it for weeks, that I’d rather just produce this 'Ghostbusters.' I told them I thought I could help but let’s find a really good director and make it with him. So that’s what we’ve agreed will happen. I didn’t want all kinds of speculation about what happened with me, that is the real story."

Reitman further hypothesized that production on the film would "get started by the fall, set in New York, but given the logistics and the stuff that happens, the beginning of 2015 sounds more likely."
