Thanks, man! That's funny that you have him with that Lila figure, because I snagged the hat, revolver and holster off the Turnbull fig from that line.

So, I finally got around to swapping the heads of the DC Direct and Mattel Catwoman. It was the first time my wife seen me perform a head transplant and thought that I was gross.

I think they came out pretty well.

Try doing a head swap in front of kids who watch toy story religiously...

Strangely, both figures look better than the original DCD one. I saw someone else do the Mattel head on the DCD body, and it looked great, but even the reverse looks better. Weird. Way to salvage a figure, man!

Thanks! I didn't want the leftover Catwoman parts to go to waste, I'm happy with the way it turned out.

And I'm happy with how the other figure turned out as well.

So the "deluxe" Arkham City Mr Freeze and Killer Croc are scheduled to be released tomorrow.

Is anyone planning on getting them?

I really want both. Particularly Mr. Freeze, but they are a little pricey for me. I might cave just because I think this Mr. Freeze is way cool.

And what makes them deluxe? More detail? I'm not sure what the justifications are for charging twice the price, but I don't like it. I can kind of see Croc being a little more expensive. But Freeze? I just don't know.

DCD claimed that all the tooling on Freeze made him too expensive to cost out as a regular $18 figure. So when they started the oversized "deluxe" line, they shoved him in there so they could charge more. But $50 seems like too much for either of them, especially Freeze I agree, since he's not really "oversized", only 7.25" compared to say 6.75" Batman or the 9.5" Croc. But because they're releasing him with Croc they have to charge the SW rice sicne they're on the same SKU.

I think they should have released Freeze first on his own SKU and charged maybe $30, then done Croc later for $50 and then Titan Joker (a whopping 11.5"!) for $70. Would have made all the prices a little more palatable.

But I'm still getting Freeze today. (I hope.)

I got Mr. Freeze yesterday, but I was bummed that none of the comic stores in my area (or at least the five I called) did not have Croc in stock.

Anyway, here's the packaging for Mr. Freeze.

I still had a hard time justifying the purchase to myself because of the $40 price tag.

Dude he looks way cool. I wish any of my LCS's didn't suck so that I could just go pick em' up like that. I'll probably have to wait until Figure of The Day hosts him. But yeah i'm still having a hard time with the price as well.

I did actually freeze Catwoman and Jean Grey. It's the Jean Grey figure that came with the Cyclops movie action figure, but in the photos above I think of her as Talia al Ghul.

Anyway, I put Catwoman and Jean in the own sandwich bag and added water. After that, I place them in the freezer for a few hours. The trick is manipulating the sandwich bag, figure and water to the desire position and finding a sandwich bag without leaks. It probably took me about 10 minutes each figure to manipulate to the way I wanted. Just make sure the figure's feet is near the bottom of the sandwich bag. Next time I do this, I'm to freeze the figure in a sandwhich bag and then find a small circular type dish to put water into so that I can use it as a base or stand for my frozen figure.

Those deluxe figures are cool if you have the display space. Unfortunately, I don't so I will have to pass.

If I did pick up any of them, it would be the Grundy, because you could display him with Superman and Batman.
