Oh don't worry, I love Alan Scott! He's a sacred cow to me, along with the rest of the classic JSA. As far as I'm concerned, Alan Jay, and Carter should be treated like gold by DC.

Ahh... take both of their powers away, and Alan would shrivell up into Mr Magoo like he did in Hearts Of Darkness. I presume Hal would stomp him like a narc at a biker rally at that point!

Hal would knock Alan down and beat him until he can't see out of his only eye. Then beat him some more.

Lol.. I have to agree..
Without powers, Hal would beat Alan easily. Hal has had military experience, and for all the experience in Alan.. he's.. well.. geriatrical when powerless..
And I love Alan Scott.. but in a street fight? with the present state of things?

Right now, yeah, but when Hal was first created Alan could have just been his dad's age.

The thing is, Alan is locked to a certain time in history, as he was involved in WWII in the 1940s no matter how much time passes in reality. Hal, however, isn't linked directly to any real life events... so he kind of lives in this perpetual "Present Day," to which even his first appearance back in Showcase #22 (published in 1959) is only about "Five Years Ago."

possibly...

his first appearance was in All-American Comics #16 way back in 1940... in an issue in '43 (i believe?) he celebrated his 35th birthday...

so that puts him at around 100...

doing good for his age lol
