And newsflash, Batman and Robin DOESN'T make sense. Can you explain to me why there was Frogmen in #1? The signifigance of the pig masks? How Dick and Damien ever became Batman and Robin? I feel like there's so much symbology and imagery that's supposed to be there for some purpose but I can't figure it out. Probably from the drugs is my guess.
It is a common story telling device that all writers of all mediums use. Why would Grant tell us right of the bat. Everything will be explained. Hell look at geoff johns, his Blackest Night story buildup began two years ago. Grant is mearly building up to his story now.

The title was Final Crisis, as in it was a DC multiverse story.

Of course, I agree with West on most of what he said.

I still wish he'd read Marvel and Indie comics more than he does.

LOL. If the frog is symbolism for anything other than comedy I'd be surprised.

1. Pig masks. Professor Pyg. That's just the kind of villain he is. Like the guy from Scream.

2. Firstly, his name is Damian. Nitpick sorry. But if you don't know the story behind how the two became Batman and Robin, read Battle for the Cowl (which is only 3 issues) because I know you'll die laughing at the thought of reading Morrison's Batman run. But to some it up, Dick Grayson is the first Robin and the only logical successor to the cowl. Damian Wayne is Bruce's son and feels its his place to carry his fathers legacy. He would rather be Batman but he'll settle for Robin.

To simplify things; the animals were there as a nod to pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths DC Comics era. Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew is the name if you ever felt like looking them up. The universe was coming to an end, so the Monitor showed his power and even brought Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew back from the history books.

Well, I can understand some Elitism. I mean it is in everyone section of fandom. However, back to Final Crisis as a monthly I hated it, the timeline was disjunct, characters appeared for a few panels and then they were gone, and it never felt like a true Crisis (I still believe that there was only one true Crisis, Crisis on Infinite Earths). Now as a trade it makes more sense, I still don't enjoy the story. The bright side is that you can read the GL part as a stand alone.

Same with Batman and Robin. I only lasted a few issues but I just couldn't continue. Why can't it read like a regular comic? Like the other Batman titles?

I heard Morrison is a drug user and now I believe it.
I liked Final Crisis and I understood. So am I a liar?

Batman and Robin is about as basic comic book storytelling as you can get. But if you don't like, don't read it. I'm not going to fault you for it.

But, I for one, would never try to tell you not to criticize Final Crisis if you didn't like it even though I did.

Because if I did, I would have to forfeit my right to criticize the utter garbage we're being sold in Blackest Night.

Call me crazy, but I prefer my Green Lantern stories to have Green Lantern in them.

Not Mera and Atom.

Hmmm, as your opinion it stands.
However, Final Crisis had that horrid Tokyo-pop super hero group.
I would rather see Hal, dressed as Rainbow Bright defeat the main villain (you know the one that appears in the last main title book) with few notes from the lute of awesome epicness.

I read through Final Crisis to find if I can remove ALL but the Alpha Lantern/Hal Jordan Trial parts. Actually I can even remove the page where the GLs stake the cosmic vampire.

Well, not to nitpick you, but its Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew!....just putting it out there

As for elitism in comics, theres a great scene in an issue of Starman where Jack is complaining to Sadie about know-nothing-know-it alls who always come into his store and talk like they know more about collecting and second hand junk trading. He said he cant stand when they do that. She says to him, "Jack, isn't that a bit of an elitist attitude?"

Jack replies, "Ain't nothin' wrong with being elite, baby"

Jack Knight...a man who gets it

I love Super Young Team!

Way to hate Asians.

What the hell do you mean "remove."
