Default Which Lantern is going to die?

We know that someone will. Most likely one of the main four and
two or three of the secondary lanterns.

I'm thinking that Soranik will go the way of all Kyle's loved ones.

And either John or Guy is going to sacrifice himself to end this.

None of the Earth lanterns will die. And if they do, they'll be back before the event ends.

Everyone else is fair game.

Like West said, I wouldn't feel comfortable if I wasn't one of the four earth lanterns.

I don't think it's Natu. Johns, Gibbons and Tomasi have spent the last four years building her up as a multi-dimensional character and she's one of the few prominent female GLs. Kyle and Soranik's relationship provides many more story beats than offing her.

There is a legitimate problem with killing off female characters just because they provide an action point for more prominent male characters. Alex's gruesome death is already held up as a point of contention in the industry and Katma Tui, her Korugarian predecessor, was also murdered; I don't think the current creative teams want Green Lantern to be seen as a place where strong female characters are killed off.

I don't think this is a fair statement to make. Have you read any GL books with John at the center? He's an excellent character with nearly four decades of history, a member of the Justice League and a GL who has experienced triumph and loss on big and large scales.

Not Kyle! He's great. But John hasn't done much lately and I've been saying it'll be him if anyone.
Plus Wog has already died once.

The Constitution of the United States Of America gives me the right to want him dead. I just don't have the power to do anything about it.

Yet.

Well, actually, I'd say that gives him every right to WANT him dead. I mean, Kyle's a fictional character, so it isn't like he's proposing murder. I don't happen to agree with him, or think it is likely to happen, but it seems odd to think that, just because others like a character, that somehow negates an individual's right to desire the demise of that character.

My guess is that it could be Arisia. It would possibly explain the significance (if there really is any) to her story in the Tales of the Corps 3.

I don't think any of the significant Lanterns will die. I do think some of the lesser known Lanterns will die and be immediately born as Black Lanterns to advance the story and get closer to the 100% benchmark. Once that happens, it'll allow Nekron to enter this plane of existence.

Johns more or less said during his spotlight at comic con that he wouldn't kill Kyle.

Personally, I want the Alpha Lanterns to go.

I kinda do, doesnt really matter how long the character has been around. + every earth gl and even kilowog and gnort has been a member of the jla roster at one time

i agree, john never really did it for me either.

You might just be the most honest person I've ever met.

The only person I have a deep sinking feeling about is Sinestro. When heroes get made awesome and multi-dimensional, it usually means they get to hang around a little longer (until the next writer anyway). When villains get made awesome and multi-dimensional, it means they're about to go out in a blaze of glory. It's a shame, really, but hey, on the bright side, he's escaped death before!

I seriously doubt they'd kill Kyle. John or Guy, maybe, but I'm seriously hoping not. And if they do, they'll probably be back by the end of the story.

As someone else pointed out, killing Soranik would be a terrible mistake because if they do, it's almost certainly going to be -- or at least look like -- yet another fridging. However, I'm not sure that would stop DC from doing it. As much as I love Green Lantern, the Corps is ridiculously lacking in females, and the ones that do exist have never been treated particularly well by the writers/editorial (Katma's off-panel death, Arisia's sudden growth spurt, Sheriff Mardin suddenly becoming young and skinny and hot, ditto for Brik, etc.).

I have a feeling that it will be guy I rember in blackest night #1 they talked about how guy was the only one who didn't lose the person he loved I think either he will die or ice will die I also have a feeling that arisa will die I honestly believe that the corps will be massively smaller after all this I also believe the gaurdains will die as well or maybe only one will live

Sad but i dont wish to C him go... Its John. Rise of Xanshi, Kama tui Dying Luv... though his stil avaliable for JLA. Stil he doesnt have any of His OWN Story for GL?! Maybe issue #48 is a tribute to him? I feel he will meet the Indigo Corps before his death & finally forgive his own grave mistake later killed by Kat/Fatality? Remember he mentions:" i dont have to do Anything but to stay BLACK?" There U GO~
