Default Pattinson/Reeves "The Batman" movie

Might be Jonah Hill as the Riddler:

Rumor has it that both Dick Grayson/Robin and Barbara Gordon/Batgirl are going to be introduced in this movie:

And if Jeffery Wright is indeed cast as Commissioner Gordon, that most likely means Barbara Gordon will be a POC.

Whatever this film is going to be, I don't think it's going to be uninteresting.

I'm a little bit curious if it's even supposed to inhabit the same universe as Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

They claim this is DCEU circa the 1990's, so to maintain continuity, Gordon needs to be a white dude as he was in JL. If they recast him as a POC. they might as well just not connect it, because it's not like these movies are gonna cross over properly, anyway, essentially being a period piece.

I'm highly skeptical it will be set in the 1990s. I just don't see the pros vs. cons to it.

I've seen somewhat credible theories that the reason for the WW 1984 delay is to retool it to somehow be a way to explain the DCEU out of the old DCEU and into the new DCEU. But I don't know.

^If it's 1990s and DCEU, that would mean they would have to admit that BvS/JL Bats has been operating for well over 20 years. That fits for Affleck's actual age, but would be against DC's seeming policy that everything (except Wonder Woman) has happened relatively recently.

If you move away from the classic, cliched image of Penguin, and focus on the whole "cultured crime lord" aspect, then you have a wide range of good actors who can portray him.

Hell, look at what Vincent D did with Kingpin, and he isn't 300+ pounds and bald.

I would watch Pattinson in anything but I don't like any of Seth Rogen's movies. Maybe Knocked Up was okay back in the day I think. I don't know if i can see him as a Batman bad guy.

I liked Rogen in Zack and Miri, and if we're going way back, in Freaks & Geeks and Donnie Darko. Pineapple Express started super strong, but the ending was a letdown, although perhaps I should have seen it under the influence. Oh, and he's okay as Mantis in the Kung Fu Panda movies.

I love Seth is pretty much everything I've seen. Superbad, The Interview, This is the End, Knocked Up, Pineapple Express (less so that one), etc.. I've met the guy, too.

That movie is underrated. It's quite funny and strangely endearing.
I mostly like Rogen, but I'm not such a fan that I'd watch something just because he's in it.

Oh yeah, I loved Knocked Up. I can't remember anything about Superbad and This is the End, but I know I've seen them.

If those are your idea of good comedy movies then you all need help.

Not sorry.

They're misstating what the Deadline report said, the Seth Rogen stuff was in the past:

We heard that there was interest from the production in Seth Rogen for the role of the Penguin, however, but I hear no offers or talks occurred.

And now Paul Dano is the Riddler.
How can they all have more than two minutes of screen time each?

Who says they do? There is probably some kind of "mastermind" at the end, though.

Well, I like Kevin Smith's movies, but if someone said "good comedy movies" I probably would think Billy Wilder and Neil Simon first then turn to 70s and 80s spoofs (Brooks and Zucker), but I don't watch only the best all the time.
