Because he's the goddamn Batman.

Seriously though that set looks awesome, if only this was out about five years earlier, I'd have snapped this up, would have been at the top of my Xmas list! I think that Batman suit is from the upcoming video game, so this set might be trying to help sales of the game, if you like this set then you'll like the game, or if you liked the game then you'd like this set. It's about time to be honest, I'm glad they're doing s GL set! Sadly tough I can't see myself on the floor playing with this anytime soon though.

One thing though, why does Green Lantern need a jet? Maybe it'd have been easier if they just did it as a standard jet either Batman or Sinestro used.

Because apparently EVERY DC LEGO set HAS to have Batman (or Superman, I guess), or nobody will buy it.

It's funny, they don't make that same assumption with the Marvel sets. There's no Marvel character that they feel like they HAVE to cram into every single set.

At least here it is clearly a GL/Sinestro set with Batman tacked on. Usually, if you get a non-Batman character in a LEGO set, the set is a Batman or Superman set with the other hero tacked on.

I'm excited about this set, though.

Eh, Hal's a test pilot. He has made a jet as a construct many times in the past. Plus I think that LEGO sets with vehicles sell better than ones without, and I for one am glad the vehicle was a GL vehicle here. Otherwise, this would have been yet another Batman set with GL just tacked on.

It's green so I guess this is a construct.

^ Ah, I thought it could be a construct. But yeah I suppose they do think a set wouldn't sell without Batman or Superman. As a kid the only DC heroes I knew even exist were Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. It's only when I accidently caught Justice League I knew of other heroes but since that's aired multiple times and there have been films in the UK you'd think that kids these days know more about DC heroes, at least with the GL film coming out anyway. I'm surprised they haven't done a Green Arrow set actually due to the success of Arrow, although I suppose it is aimed at an older audience. Once the Flash TV series airs then I think we'll hopefully see a full Flash set.

Batman is there because this set is based on the LEGO Batman 3 videogame.

As I thought to be honest. Still good for GL fans though!

Same here bro, I think I was born in the wrong time. I should have been either born ten - twenty years earlier (I'd have loved to been in the 80s) or ten years later so I'd be growing up with the better LEGO sets.

Despite the Batman 3 video game, I think that GL could have carried the set, especially with his appearance in the Lego movie. It will be interesting if we get other GLU characters in Lego, but with Lego's slow release schedule with Marvel/DC, it's going to be many years for that to happen.

Which is known as "LEGO Batman 3" only because they feel that Batman has to be in everything, so it's really just part of the same issue.

I "bought my daughter" this set, should be here Monday. She is currently working on the Lego Tumbler, if you haven't seen it, it's awesome. She has quite the DC Heroes Lego collection.

I stopped by Target yesterday, and thought I'd pick up this set. Sadly, of all the new sets out this month, this, and the Double Decker Couch set I wanted from the LEGO Movie line, were the only ones sold out. So no LEGO for me. Should have grabbed the Brainiac set. Ah, well, maybe next time.

Just ordered the set from lego, they were sold out at the lego store and every target we went to. He also bought the jl javelin set with darkseid. His lego hero collection is really impressive. I'll post a pic when we get the gl set this coming week

There is a gorilla grodd and captain cold flash set. With new 52 wonder woman and her invisible jet. Batman is in there as well.
