It did? I didn't know that. Hmmm...maybe there is hope for GL over there then. And in that hope is a hope for a sequel

That is likely the worst thing I have ever seen in my life.

So i just heard on the news that Harry Potter just made 7 Billion world wide. That's billion...with a "B". So...that more than makes up for GL's dismal numbers....so let's have a GL sequel now!!

Another movie doing good is no excuse to pilfer from the profits of it to make a sequel to a movie that did shit.

maybe...but 7 bil is a...shall we say..rather large number. The point is WB ...after Potter is done is by no means hurt by GL...so in that light...lets do it right this time!!

7 billion of the course of 8 movies or so, so you do realize that money has already been spent on running the company, lining the pockets of the execs and such. And the studio only gets about half of that anyways due to the theaters getting their cuts.

most of its probably already been spent.

And the studios dont get much from merchandising unless theres a per item clause or something, they got paid the initial license fee and thats it.

Gl needs to make money on its own to justify a sequel, i dont know why youd think another movie doing good would help it get one.

thats like saying TDK helped get the Smurfs movie made.

I'm starting to think GL won't get a sequel but as in any business..WB will take it's revenue and see what investment to stick it in. then again..we've all seen movies get sequels that most people thought would never get one nor deserve one.

I think its way to early to tell on a sequel (although I'm really hoping for one). It still hasn't opened in places and will also account for DVD sales. I think a lot will have to do with the faith WB has in the property. The consensus is the movie had a lot more potential and it depends whether WB feels they want to have another go at it. I'm sure if they feel like with the right director and writer they can fix the issues then they may go ahead. With the popularity of the comics, a new animated series, the movie with toys and video game tie ins, etc they are still building the property and still may have faith in a new one. A sequel is cheaper then the initial product since the art design, characters, sets, etc. Are already fleshed out and done.

It would've been nice if someone asked Geoff Johns at comic con during the audience panel what the plans were for a sequel.
