I'm going to the midnight showing with 6 other people, 2 of which aren't really comic fans but asked if they could come because they think the movie looks good.

Interesting to read the posts worrisome of a bad review of the film. In way, it will be a good thing for me if the film does get bad reviews as it will lower my expectations.

Actually, I lowered my expectations of the film when I saw a Ryan Reynolds press junket he did on On The Red Carpet where he said (around the 2:04 mark), "This isn't the 'Dark Knight.' The is a film that's slightly aware of (Green Lantern) of itself." To me, that translates to it's going to have some campy and goofy moments. Meaning, this is not going to be a dramatic or epic film, but rather fun and enjoyable flick; a summer popcorn flick.

I did see all the TV spots last night on Fox last night during the Master Chef tv show, and was reading the "critics" adjectives of the film, and notice none of those praises were from well known publications like Newsweek, Time Magazine, Rolling Stone, etc. like attached to First Class. If this has been screened for critics, why not use positive adjectives from those publications rather from some lesser known ones to promote the film?

It's entirely possible that those major publications either haven't screened it yet, or haven't published anything yet, or maybe they haven't submitted their reviews to WB, there could be a million reasons.

A headache. Go see it in 2D first so you can fully enjoy it. If you really like it see it again in 3D

Well, I think you're in for a good treat as it enhances the movie experience. Yes, some may experience head aches, but others love it which is why Hollywood keeps cranking out 3D flicks.

I'll be watching Green Lantern in 3D.

See it twice. once in 3d and once in 2d. Only true way to enjoy it. I saw Thor in 3d first and enjoyed it but also felt that scenes were too dark. I saw it again in 2d and enjoyed it even more since I could see certain parts better.

GL, from the 3D trailer, will be even better in 3D. It really adds to the grandeur..

no offense but all of those people said that The Last Aibender was phenomenal and amazing and one of the best movies of the summer. They lost any shred of cerdibility in my eyes for that alone. Anyone who came anywhere near The Last Airbender knows it was shite and that includes fans children and non fans that I have spoken to.

"best superhero film I've seen in ages"
"3D was bad, as expected"
"the whole film works"

Was Time Magazine, Rolling Stone, etc publications that gave The Last Airbender positive reviews?

Is anyone here related to Broome or Kane? No? Anyone here related to Mark Strong, Ryan Reynolds or Blake Lively? Anyone stand to make a substantial amount of money from this movie? No? Well damn, I can't really think of any more reasons why any of us should continue to be lashing out at people who did not enjoy a movie. Critics or general public.

Oh I'm not lashing out at them it's more the people who are letting all the reviews whether good or bad decide their thoughts on a film they havent seen. [sarcasm] I mean come on West Casey said it was the worst thing ever. Don't you automatically change your mind to say it is a bad movie? Before you answer though wait about six minutes for the next twitter post of people saying its great so you can change you mind again. Oh wait Sally Simpleton just said it sucked now time to change stance again. [/sarcasm]
