Those clips gave me chills. The soundtrack is masterful! During the first charging of the ring, when the theme chimes in: "duuuuuuun dun dun dun duuuuuuun", such a John Williams moment. Bravo James Newton Howard, you are the man!

Je never said he didn't like the 3D conversion on THIS FILM. In fact, he said he thought the test they showed him was great (but, to be fair, I've heard that 3D companies make awesome tests that they have no capability of reproducing for an entire film, so take that as you will).

Given the fact that any CGI can be re-rendered in 3D, a lot of this film should look good even post-converted. That said, I am no fan of 3D and probably won't see it in 3D, but I might if people convince me it's worth it.

Thanks for the info, guys. I had not heard this stuff. This pretty much convinces me to see it at least once each way, which is cool because one person I'm going with wants to see it 3D and another 2 want to see it 2D.

I saw the first clip and stopped. Not because I didn't think they were cool, but because I want to avoid spoilers.

Clip 5 is the absolute best in my opinion. Wont spoil it for anyone who doesnt want to see it, but all Ill say is that it showcases just how cool the constructs seem to be in this movie.

gl movie review dated today

June 06, 2011 08:45

Apparently a screening for the Green Lantern movie was held, and Robert Meyer Burnett took to twitter to share his thoughts.

Burnett is currently directing episodes of the upcoming HBO/Cinemax series "Femme Fatales," and started his own production company, Ludovico Technique, putting out special edition DVDs.

Here's what he had to say:

GREEN LANTERN was terrific fun. The fact that it works at all is a miracle, but it really does cook. The first ten minutes sold me.

The 3D in the opening ten minutes is wonderful. But YOU MUST see it with polarized glasses. The color is great.

It's not campy at all. The humor is earned. And Mark Strong as Sinestro was AWESOME.

It was pretty epic.

LOVED GREEN LANTERN. Don't know why, but it kinda' felt like THE LAST STARFIGHTER. I know..."Huh?!? What?!?"

BTW...In LexG parlance...Blake Lively...LOOK AT HER. SMOOOOOKING hot.

it really did feel like an 80's movie, circa '84... Weird.

Last Starfighter? Awesome! Loved that movie, so this sounds promising!
