Can't comment on trailer, commercials, or any other promotional material making this look predicable. Didn't bother checking those out prior to seeing the film due to lack of interest.

After checking out the poster today, it's pretty self explanatory on what you're going to get.

Surprisingly good; had a little Tarantino vibe to it. 4/5

I saw that get reviewed on AOTS, and they said it definitely felt a little like an old Grindhouse flick.

Secretariat

On par with most Disney films. Diane Lane gives a wonderful performance and the horse all well. Eventhough I knew the results of the races, it was still thrilling to watch.

The Social Network- Not sure how much of this flick is actual truth or hyperbole, but it's very entertaining. Such a brilliant douchenozzle... and he screwed over the only friend he had. Zuckerburg's character reminded me of Dr. House: a brilliant asshole that lacks social skills and doesn't care.

Glad I finally saw this. So...

(1) I admire anyone who has the tenacity to actually stick with it in Hollywood.

(2) It's ironic that the Batman is a gun enthusiast.

(3) How can you not like Superman Chris?

Definitely inferior to the first one. Not a bad film, but way too much editing done to the camera work so that you don't end up with any real clarity of what's happening. The assassins are also less appealing, especially the Tremor family, who are just inbred foul-mouthed generic hillbillies instead of bizarro crazed hitmen.

Devil- One part Urban Legend, one part Blair Witch Project, one part Nightmare of Elm street and one part Final Destination.

Family Man

I like these type of elsewhere/parallel universe movies. Of course this is a spin on A Christmas Carol, and it good family entertainment.

This was better than I remembered it. At least they really show how powerful Supes is. I love when the bullet bounces off his open eye.
I guess I was/am mostly miffed that they couldn't think of another baddie besides Lex and that Lois is actually with someone else.

Cool

Supeman Returns was pretty great.

Yesterday I saw District 9. One brilliant movie! What did you guys think? I hear a sequel is in the works.

Zombieland was also pretty frackin' good. I heard they want to make a sequel to this, too.

With today's world issues, though. I can see how it might be a problem. It was always cool to see the superheroes struting down the street though. I remember there was this one guy, who walked around and looked like he was in a cage being carried by Frankenstein's monster. That was probably the best one.

Lacks the narrative tension of some of Miyazaki's other films but not the heart.

I liked this one a lot. Conroy's Batman was particularly good ("I'm over it"). And the characters looked liked their comic book counterparts from those story arcs.
