I just read the preview pages. Now I HAVE to buy this issue.

Goddamnit! I'm trying to get OUT of comics! Now they give meat least one issue I feel I HAVE to read. I guess after 30+ years I owe it to my hobby to give it a shot before walking away. The page with Wally, even a younger one, had me. The idea of bringing the Watchmen into this sounds horrible though.

I can't remember the last time I smiled reading a preview page.

I'm glad real Wally is back, but I'm sure the Watchmen stuff is gonna end up being terrible

Just because of the last thing, I would not be surprised if all this is a trick of some kind

That last bit implying that Dr Manhattan from Watchmen caused the creation of the nU shitty2 is the one stupid thing about all of this that kills it for me.

Why do I feel like the black Aqualad was only brought in to make him gay? He's not an old character so I'm not opposed to it, just kind of an eyeroll. It read like a task that needed to be knocked off a checklist.

Most of the other stuff sounds great.

Teenage Wally being their with nU Barry almost brings tears to my eyes.

nU Ollie and Dinah realizing they are shitty pale replicas of the real ones. It's not THEM that are missing something, it's the fans.

I don't get why Doctor Manhattan would hit the reset button on the DC Universe Thay sounds wayyyyy out of character to me.

That's because it's a stupid idea. It's setting off red flags in your head for a reason.

The other stuff I saw and read about looked really good though.

Yeah I don't really have a problem with any of the other things, except for Superwoman's baby being Darkseid.

I think it'd be cool to have some of the characters from the Alan Moore story show up in this DCU proper. Since we can't get a decent Question series, maybe we can get Rorschach in Gotham or Metropolis for a bit. I wanna see more to do with the real JSA and Legion.

I like the character probably a tad bit more than the Question, anytime I can see him appear in something I grab it. If he showed up in Gotham I'd wonder if he'd see the inside of Arkham, more super powered threats than he's used to....

EDIT: You guys are right though, let's just put all those characters back on a shelf along with the ones that inspired them like Capt. Atom, Question, etc. Let them continue to collect dust and never be used again for anything and DC can hope to sucker more folks like Dave in with reprints and new collected editions the next couple decades. These characters' best days are behind them and none of them have a bat emblem or S on their chests so they're not worth any attention.

The Watchmen should not be a part of the main DC universe, it makes no sense whatsoever

Read whatever story they're about to try and sell us on, it might make more sense in the end. It's not like Watchmen could go very many places in their own universe. At the end you've got Comedian, Nite Owl I, and Rorschach dead. Doc Manhattan is on Mars, Ozymandias is still a bastard, and only Silk Spectre and Nite Owl II remain.

We've already got two Wally's and two Clark Kents [as well as a couple Lois Lanes], cant be too much like Marvel and just have two of everybody. Throwing a wildcard like Rorschach into the DCU would be entertaining as hell...

I think perhaps the idea is that it is actually OK for a story to have an end, and stand alone, no matter how much you might like the characters in it. There are a heck of a lot of characters that I like that I have no desire to see folded into some completely different universe, even if that means that I can only ever enjoy them in the stories they originally appeared in. I don't think that's a bad thing. I do think you have every right to feel differently, of course.

This is a really good point, and I agree.
