Gotta love his crotchetiness and arrogance. He's funny though.

You can tell that they let Geoff write his own promos because they all sound the same. Meanwhile, way to inflict a PR ass-whipping on yourself, DC:

That ass whipping was media created, if you look at the response from the guy putting together the statue he doesn't sound like he's raising hell over the original decision:

Quote:
Todd Boyce, an Ottowa resident who heard Jeffrey’s story after his death, has raised money for a statue of the boy, and wanted to see him depicted in his Superman costume. Jeffrey’s father Richard testified in court that before his teenage parents lost custody, Jeffrey loved to dress up as the superhero and pretend to fly.

“He wanted to fly,” Baldwin said, according to CBC News. “He tried jumping off the chair. We had to make him stop. He dressed up [as Superman] for Halloween one year. He was so excited. I have that picture at home hanging on my wall. He was our little man of steel.”

But DC Entertainment refused to grant the rights for the Superman logo to be used on a statue of the boy. “Basically they didn’t want to have the character of Superman associated with child abuse. They weren’t comfortable with that,” Boyce told CBC. “To be fair to DC I don’t think they wanted to say no. I think they gave it serious thought.”
I think The Gutters got it right on this one.

Common sense should tell anyone that that wouldn't have "associated them with child abuse."

It's cute that you think the world is full of people with common sense.

You make a good point there, but still, you would hope that someone who was in a position to call a shot like that for a major corporation and who had a hell of a lot of eyes on him would have reached a better conclusion.

I don't think you want it from Neal Adams given what happened with Batman: Odyssey.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of Neal. But he's as good a writer as I am an artist.

SDCC: SUPERMAN SOARS AT COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL
Quote:
The artists on the panel spoke briefly about the current design of the Superman costume. "Everyone makes it their own anyway," said Lashley. "There are certain things you can't change -- I'd love to say you can do whatever you want, but you have to stay in the bounds of what's acceptable. I can take some liberties here and there, but it has to follow certain things."
Quote:
John and I are creating a new villain called The Machinist. You'll see him in the next issue [of 'Superman'] as well."

If Mahnke is going to be the regular artist I might have to consider dropping it.

That doesn't sound especially interesting just based on the paragraph-length synopsis. Then again, I think I may not be the target demographic(?)

surprised it lasted this long, but with DC's increased digital titles, this shouldn't surprise anyone.
