I made this Green Lantern History Video a little under 2 years ago, it's pretty well known.. I'll be remaking it with minor changes, oh and it will be in HD..

WOW THAT WAS GREAT!!! so when did kyle re create the guardians and reignited the central power battery on oa? was that during his ion mini series after infinite crisis??

..that was during the first time he became Ion.

He gave up his power as Ion with the two decisions..

One: giving Jade back her emerald abilities..
Two: re-igniting the Central Power Battery, as well as bringing life to another generation of Guardians.

Later he of course was given the title "Torch-Bearer"
-the GL who carried the Corps' legacy through the Corps' darkest period

Basically still just a regular GL until the Infinite Crisis Rann/Thanagar War Special. That's when Jade dies, and when she dies she gives those powers Kyle gave her back to him. Those powers back in Kyle eventually make him Ion once again.

Considering it's popularity you've probably read Sinestro Corps War, and remember when Sinestro pulls Ion out of Kyle..
Geoff Johns decided to make Ion an entity similar to Parallax to avoid further confusion in separations of that power.

yea i have every issue of the current gl run, and have all of infinite crisis, i was just wonder wut issues of kyles gl run did he restore the battery and the gaurdians, and when was he dispatched to space to retrieve hals body, in other words what came right before gl rebirth when we saw kyle crash land with the body?

The issue that Kyle restored the Central Power Battery and Guardians was Green Lantern vol.3 #150

If you get the TPB "The Power of Ion" that's issues #142-#150


Right before GL:Rebirth #1 there's a short labeled "The Day Before" which can be found in the GL:Secret Origins 2005 issue, and if you have the GL:Rebirth TPB, or Hardback collection I'm pretty sure it's in there as well.

Not too much happened before Rebirth. Green Lantern vol.3 was canceled, and #181 was the last issue. Kyle defeated Major Force and then flew off into space for his next unknown mission.

"The Day Before"-Kyle was in Sector 3599 where he was surrounded by creatures saying "Parallax is Coming" and on earth we see Hal(who is the Spectre) becoming unstable.. that later leads into GL:Rebirth as we know it.

Yeah I'm reading "Blackest Night" and will be reading "Brightest Day."

I'll eventually do a Green Lantern History 2.. probably at the End of "Brightest Day," considering that it will set an ending point for very substantial events.

I think I might do individual videos for GL villains too.. due to video time constraints I couldn't explain as many detailed aspects of the important villains in the GL saga as I wanted to.

So it would be kool to do like a "History of Sinestro" or something to that extent.

I dunno though, what do you think?

Excellent work...would love to see this expanded into a longer, more detailed piece (as you mentioned)...what app did you use for editing? nice Ken Burns motion.

I used Final Cut Pro, and it was way back when I was hardly familiar with the program. But that is what I like about Final Cut, it is very easy to use, and I never had any formal training. The GL History was one of my first projects using the program. It's pretty amazing what it allows you to do once you actually know what you're doing (like I think I do now) haaha

If you are interested in editing I would recommend "Final Cut Express" as a good starter app. However, I began on things like "Pinnacle Studio," "Sony Vegas," and "Avid Liquid Pro 7."
