That's interesting. Two of the books had actually picked up in month two.

November featured such a steep drop off, what will be really interesting is seeing where all these books scale out.

Yeah it seems like the books are starting to take drops. People are just spending less I guess.

                Green Lantern December 2011 Sales

Another month, another Green Lantern issue in the top 5 comics sold rankings. Green Lantern #4 came in at number...four in the month of December. The Tony Bedard penned Green Lantern: New Guardians #4 falls just one spot to #28 on the sales chart. That's the good news. The bad news is that other lantern titles have slipped again. The Guy Gardner and John Stewart starring Green Lantern Corps #4 falls from #24 to #28, while the sales of Peter Milligan's Red Lanterns #4 are worse with the book falling three spots to #35. On the bright side, the Hal Jordan featured Justice League #4 is still the top selling comic in the world. Check out a glimpse of the charts below and the full thing via Diamond.

Hope that doesn't mean they'll be cancelled.

Also Hal Jordan is most likely not the reason why people buy the Justice League.

Still 8 out of the ten spots will still DC.

What would be a critical drop for getting canceled?
I thought the GLC and NG issues so far were good, too bad they don't sell that well. Don't know about the RL book, though.

I wonder how many of those who dropped the books did so to go digital, are downloading the issues illegally or just got bored with the New 52? Its good to see Batman and Superman at the top of the sales list but I have doubts how long this bump in sales will last as the whole industry seems to be slipping.

Top Selling Green Lantern Comics of 2011

If you haven't been keeping up with comics lately, you're probably going to be blown away when someone tells you about DC Comics new initiative the New 52. Chances are you already know about that so you probably know that Green Lantern has been a top 10 selling comic since September of 2011. But how did the other lantern books and more importantly, its publisher DC Comics fare in the months before the New 52? Well, Diamond has given us that information today. Check it out below.

In other sales news, the first four issues of the DC Comics relaunch are make the top 50 in 2011 sales. With the first issue coming at #7, the second at #16, the third comes in at #24 while the fourth is ranked at #37. Tony Bedard and Tyler Kirkham's Green Lantern: New Guardians #1 is also a top 50 seller at #46. Meanwhile, Peter Tomasi's Green Lantern Corps #1 and Peter Milligan's Red Lanterns #1 are at #55 and #64 respectively. You can view the top 500 comics sold here.

In Graphic Novel sales, Blackest Night paperback edition rounded out the top 20...at #20. The new edition of Green Lantern Secret Origin came in at #28, while Green Lantern Rebirth's new edition posted at #43. You can likely thank the Green Lantern movie for that. The second volume of Brightest Day Hardcover is at #56. Weirdly, the Blackest Night Hardcover, Blackest Night: Green Lantern paperback, and Green Lantern: Brightest Day all went back to back to back at #76-78. Green Lantern Sales in January 2012

The folks over at Diamond Comics have once again provided the initial sales numbers for the top 100 comics. This time around we find out how the four lantern books did in the month of January. Before that, you may want to know that DC Comics had a pretty good January with all of the top 10 unit shares belonging to the publisher. Green Lantern #5 fell one spot from December to land at #5. I'm sure Hal Jordan fans will be quick to remind people that he's one of the main attractions in the top selling Justice League title(#1 selling comic since September's launch).

The fifth issue of Green Lantern: New Guardians comes in at #24, which is where it was in December. Green Lantern Corps #5 falls four spots to #32 on the charts, and the Peter Milligan scripted Red Lanterns #5 sees a slight five spot dip as well, coming in at #40.

Over at Newsarama, DC's Executive Vice President of Sales John Rood and Senior Vice president of Sales Bob Wayne discuss January's sales and the publisher's current lineup of comics.

                            Green Lantern February 2012 Sales

Another month, another sales release by Diamond giving us the latest standings in comics. Once again, DC Comics does well in the top ten, pulling...10 out of 10 again. Geoff Johns, as per usual now, takes two of the top 5 and 3 of the top 10. Justice League #6 maintains the top spot as the #1 selling comic, while Green Lantern #6 came in, you guessed it, at the same spot as last month, smacked right at #5.

The sixth month of Green Lantern: New Guardians sees another slip in sales ranking, coming in at #27. While GL:NG only falls 3 spots from last month, Peter Tomasi's Green Lantern Corps #6 stands pat at #32. Change may be coming soon to Red Lanterns, and it might be needed. RL #6 takes another slight dip(-5 last month) as it falls two spots and lands at #42. That puts it below Ultimate Spider-Man but above the latest Wolverine issue, so rage on Milligan. RAGE ON!

In not so good news, the highest selling lantern related TPB is Justice Society: Monument Point, which came in at #69. Head over here to check out the Top 100 Graphic Novel Sales. Once again, DC Execs talk NEW 52 Sales 6 months in at Newsarama. DC Comics has been pretty shy about releasing many details on their sales in the digital market, but below you can check out their top 10 ranking titles. As you can see, Green Lantern came in at #5 there as well. Over at CBR, John Rood and Bob Wayne(those execs we mentioned earlier), talk about the digital market.
