So, on Thanksgiving we just had a small thing with my folks and aunt. Today, we're having a belated Tday celebration with I think 13 of us. It's also doubling as a Bday celebration for my stepdad (60 tomorrow) and an early Christmas celebration for those of the fam we won't see again this year.

Had today off, helped around the house and played a bit of my game. Just had the main dinner, only awkward parts were the rants about casinos springing up in the area (paid for with taxpayer money, blah blah blah) and a rant about how Thanksgiving is being taken away because of Muslims or some dumb shit like that. Typical old people who are shaking their fists at the clouds nonsense.

Basketball played Kyrie Irving was ranting about Thanksgiving because it supposedly discriminates against Native Americans or some shit like that. So yes, there are politically correct assholes like him who would get rid of it.Comment

^I've heard that argument every now and then and find it ironic. There are a whole bunch of examples of bad relations with European settlers/Americans and the native tribes here. Why would you want to undo one of the most positive interactions? [And from what I remember, while details are disputed about that and it wasn't the Puritans' motivation for the feast, it still was a positive relationship at the time.] That's a little like saying we shouldn't honor Abraham Lincoln because race relations were still bad after the Civil War.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I managed to get today off, so tomorrow is work and then the usual free weekend. I spent the day doing some cleaning and playing my game, enjoying my cat keeping my company. Watched a few music videos, some James Rolfe/Mike Matei uploads, playing a couple mobile games, and reading. I'm almost finally done with my second Warhammer 40k fan story (should be able to upload tomorrow evening, editing won't take long since it's pretty short). Caught a glimpse of the Cowboys getting slapped silly by the Bills.

Happy thanksgiving everyone. I had a pretty good one too. Had lots of food, although by the end I was pretty exhausted from everyone asking me questions. I like company, but sometimes I prefer to be myself TBH.

Sorry this is late. Been busy lately but I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving with your families. I did the 2 Thanksgivings in one day thing with my family and my wife's. It was a very nice day.

Had a very good dinner last night, even if it was just me and my parents (hilariously enough, the dinner rolls didn't rise much, so my stepdad said they looked like his grandmother's tits). And almost best of all was that my mothers racial-political diatribe didn't start until dinner was over and her older brother called so she and him could circle-jerk each other about bullshit conspiracy theories they actually believe!
