It doesn't hurt to have a big name on those lower tier books and because of a lack of promotion those new guys or middle of career guys with those visions don't sell as well unless it on a big book. Manhunter was a great book, huge with the critics it, no matter how great your vision is if people don't care about a character they are not going to buy it.

People care about batman, ffs Dark Knight was one of the top ten books some weeks. it certainly wasn't for the story.
Imagination, how can something so destructive create something so beautiful

        • Thanks for posting that, Hypo. It was like MST3K for comics and I can't think of anything I've read lately that screams (nay, begs at the top of its lungs) for such treatment.
I actually bought every last one of both volumes of this (the floppies) and did so for the art (even though that was fairly over-the-top most of the time).

Acid trips and Salvador Dali nightmare sequences have more logic than Neal's narrative.

Ha! No, that's okay. Actually, I've always been a big fan...of his art, but his writing makes my head spin...and not in a good way.

                      • Art Adams has posted on Facebook something rather special. Sixteen pages from full pages to layouts of an issue of All Star Batman that never was. As Art put it, he “dropped the ball”. But we get to see so much more of what could have been All Star Batman And Robin The Boy Wonder #7…
