  • In January, the organizers of the Game Developers Conference announced the keynote speaker for this year's event, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. Why is this relevant to Green Lantern fans? Well, today, March 2nd, the GDC took place and Nintendo's presence there delivered a nice fact from out of nowhere. Nintendo of America president Reggie-Fils Aime took the stage around 9:30am and told the audience 3D movie trailers are [also] coming to the 3DS, starting with Green Lantern this summer. The good folks over at Gamespot have more on the GDC, but that's quite an impressive feat and high honor for the upcoming blockbuster.

If you have no idea what the Nintendo 3DS is, let me break it down simply. It's a portable game console which can produce "3D effects without the need for any special glasses" and will be released in North America on March 17th. No word on when the 3D "Green Lantern" trailer will hit, but as usual, we'll keep you posted when that news arrives. For more info on the GDC and Nintendo 3DS, click here.

          • Ryan Reynolds Defends "GREEN LANTERN" Suit

“They’re too cartoony!” some said, “The CGI looks crapola!” others declared. Probably not in those words, mind, but there you go. The suit definitely a bone of contention, what with it suddenly appearing when Ryan put on the ring and willed himself a shiny green outfit.

“It has to be virtual rather than spandex,” says Reynolds, wearing his grey sensor suit. “This is a suit from an alien planet.”

“It’s not The Dark Knight – I don’t put the suit on and my voice drops several octaves,” adds Reynolds, unfazed by the absence of green tights. “The suit is powered specifically on his will, his emotion, his creativity and his imagination. I love that.”

“Everything Hal creates are images from his childhood,” he goes on. “Or things fuelled specifically from his own mind.” Like green skin-tight body suits, eh?

            • Badass, I love how Reynolds defends GL, you can tell he really cares about the role.

And I swear to god, I will punch someone out if I hear them complaining about the cg suit, I would have been pissed if they went with Green Spandex.

              Good find west!

The magazine can usually be found at GOOD news stands all over the US. Skip grocery stores and drug stores, and check places like Barnes & Noble, Borders, Books-A-Million, OR YOUR LOCAL COMIC SHOP.

Also, it may be possible to purchase and download a DIGITAL copy of the magazine if you absolutely can't find it anywhere.

How about the one from Revenge of the Sith.... "Anakin..." sniff, sniff "you're breaking my heart!!!"
I knew what you were going for. Yes, that line was horrible. I started to doubt her then saw Garden State, which I thought she was great in (though it's not a fav) and chalked it up to Lucas' meolodrama.

If you're willing to pay the cost of the magazine + Priority Mail postage & handling, I can see if I can find a copy for you. Let me know.

You can also contact Empire directly and see if you can order the issue from them and have it shipped to you. Many magazines give you that option.
