    • Ooh. You know what will never happen as a movie due to the characters needed to pull it off decently being a bit too much for anyone who isnt an actual comic fan? Blackest Night as a movie, that's what.
Ooh. Your sarcasm is SO appreciated. Not. Guess who's an aspiring filmmaker who would LOVE to take on that challenge in five/ten years?

I know this is the wrong thread but... I would love to see blackest night as something you play through in DC Universe Online. I figured LONG ago, that it would never work in live action movie form, BUT animated, or in a video game would be AWESOME!!
*geek moment* I need to get a PayPal and get on DCU in case they ever do that.

I still geeked on the site, too.
      Mine...

Obviously Geoff Johns, Chief Creative Officer at DC Entertainment, considers it important for Green Lantern as a brand that it's crystal clear from the beginning that Greedo shot f..., I mean that Hal would never cross the line from hero to anti-hero. By tying his version of Parallax (the entity of fear, not Hal's nom-de-guerre after Emerald Twilight) to the first movie in what will hopefully become a successful series, he prevents anyone down the line from making an Emerald Twilight movie in which Hal is responsible for all the death and destruction.

Basically, Parallax is replacing Legion in Emerald Dawn - and responsible for Hector Hammond's transformation.

          • GREEN LANTERN Producer/Writer Greg Berlanti describes writing a sequel to an unreleased movie

Collider spoke with Green Lantern co-writer Greg Berlanti on what its like to write 'Green Lantern 2' before the first film is released. Read what he says below, but check out Collider for a video of Berlanti talking about his other projects including 'Clash of the Titans 2' & 'No Ordinary Family'.

What's it like crafting the future without having an audience to see what worked and what didnt work?

"I think that will obviously inform the work we do going ahead whenever they start testing it and things like that, but we saw enough of the dailies and saw enough of what we thought worked great to think, 'Gosh, that's great'.

We had thought long term from the start anyway and had already pitched out in our heads what the stories needed to be and Martin and Donald did such an amazing job casting it anyway."

"It's most of what we wanted to achieve and then it was more like, 'Wow, what are all the fun ways we can take something we didnt think of because of how great everyone is?'"

In the page source code, the movie synopsis is there, which states that Parallax is in the film. Its not new news, its just "hidden" in the code.

                • Now what they can do to toss off any "That's not what Parallax looks like!" bitching from the fans is have the Guardians say that it's a fragment of Parallax, which is why it's "So easily beaten".

If it's a struggle to beat jsut a fragment and it's called an easy win then this builds on the threat that Parallax can actually pose further down the line.

Besides, you can't BEAT fear, not permanently.

                  SPOILERS (Sort of)
"GREEN LANTERN - In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan."

"green lantern, hal jordan, green lantern corps, carol ferris, Dr. Hector Hammond, Sinestro, ryan reynolds, blake lively, peter sarsgaard, mark strong, donald de line, greg berlanti, comics, action, adventure, sci-fi, dc comics, film, movie, cinema, warner bros, warner bros pictures, wb, warner brothers"

The "Spoilers" are everything worth reading from the official pages source code, for those who either don't know how to look at it or are too lazy.

                      • I imagine Parallax will resemble its comic counterpart. Even if it doesn't, as long as it looks good I'll be happy.

                          • 'GREEN LANTERN' Trailer to be released with Harry Potter!

At the New York Comic Con today, Green Lantern writer Geoff Johns told the audience of his spotlight panel that the trailer for "GREEN LANTERN" will indeed be seen in front of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 as many expected.

Johns also claimed that the movie will be faithful to the comics. ""If you guys like the comics now, you'll probably like the film"
