Probably but she's still Power Ring at the moment so not 100% confirmed...just like 99%

IonFan 02-19-2016 12:36 AM

true but wasn't it foretold that one day she'd get a GL ring

Ωmega Man 02-19-2016 01:56 AM

Either way it's titled Green Lanterns. Who's gonna train her officially? If it's Kyle, I don't care if he's sharing the book with the flavor of the week female replacement hero... I'd buy it.

The only way I wouldn't buy it is if the stars of the book are Cruz and Baz

if i'm remembering right it was also foretold that Baz would be doing that part ( like we need any more books with Baz in it)

Somewhere near the end of this JL run they acted as if it'd be Hal short term.

Yea in the final issue of Johns GL run they had Baz teaching Cruz, supposedly set during a time when the Justice League disappeared.

Kind of doubt that'll end up being the case though, DC doesn't plan that far ahead.

Are you kidding? Johns loves to foreshadow his next big thing.

So...the GL family will soon consist of TWO titles, both green titles, which sounds good. No more color brigade crap. And the two titles will be shipping twice a month so DC still gets four GL titles on the printing schedule. That is smart on their part. The question is if the two titles will be worth buying. Neither sounds like a solo title. One is Hal and the Corps, and the other is also plural.

A lot for me rides on what the cast and premise is for each of the titles. As well as who the creative teams are. I'll check them out, but if I'm not impressed or get a good whiff of the corporate, soulless, hack bullshit DC has shoveled out the last few years, I'm gone.

True but Johns is presumably still under the 3 projects rule and he's already got Batman: Earth One Volume 3 in the works. Gotta think a book that ships twice a month would take up two "slots" and that would leave him with no room for Rise of the Seven Seas.

The fact that it is gunna double ship is what makes me think it won't be a Baz/Cruz team-up book. Putting your least popular GLs in one book and double shipping it seems like a pretty predictable way to get a book cancelled.

Big Daddy Dave Skywalker 02-19-2016 04:13 AM

A John/Guy buddy cop GL title in one book sounds nice. And the other being Hal, Kyle, and a cast of alien GLs.

Keep Baz and Cruz in JLA titles where they belong. In the shit corner of the DCU.

EmeraldGladiator 02-19-2016 04:32 AM

How will the art work on the twice monthly books? Will artists do arcs or will they alternate. Didn't Pacheco and EVA alternate arcs at the beginning of the volume after Rebirth?

Mister.Weirdo 02-19-2016 06:51 AM

The GL and Hal Jordan book really interests me, since it's been a while since it's been a long while since we've seen Hal interacting with the Corps, let alone feature an entire book center around him and the corps.

I suspect that Green Lanterns book will feature Cruz as the main earth lantern, especially if the silhouette is anything to go by. I know most people are already in agony about that potential, but I just take it with a resounding eh! Also she'll be with another unnamed Lantern.

Lundonj 02-19-2016 07:13 AM

Two GL books twice a month sounds pretty good to me. The whole diversification theme of getting more female heroes in the genre point toward Power Ring getting a spotlight is a part of the deal.

The key for any comic is, art and story. If they tell a good GL story, I'm in.

I'm guessing they will rotate artists a bit to crank out 4 GL books a month.

Hal and GLC -- sounds like the primary space based adventures while GLs are going to be our new 2814 Lanterns.

As for the rest of Rebirth, including a potential original Alan Scott also sounds pretty good. We shall see.

Maybe that Female GL silhouette is actually the new Alan Scott and they've re-imagined him as transgender now. ;)

YOU SUIT THE H@LL UP, YOU SUIT THE H@LL UP RIGHT NOW  (DC maybe watching)

Ωmega Man 02-19-2016 04:01 PM

Hope Dale Eaglesham is on a GL title since I don't remember seeing any new Secret Six in the line-up.

And does anybody else miss Moose on colors?

~M~

EmeraldGladiator 02-19-2016 04:10 PM

Eaglesham and Paul Pelletier aren't the sexy big names A list type but are always solid B list artists and the GL franchise would be lucky to have such consistent and quality artists as these two.

In fact, that's all he's ever done. Cliffhung one "big thing" into the "next big thing" and over and over which becomes like a Human Centipede connected ass-to-mouth, but into infinity. With no payoff ever. You never, ever get to see the person at the very end of the line actually take a shit because there is no person at the end of the line.

Andrew NDB 02-19-2016 04:14 PM

And "Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps" like Green Lantern Corps needs Hal's marquee value or something. lol...

If they've planned it out correctly they should have artists alternating arcs, however that puts the onus on the writer to make sure everything is planned out far in advance (i.e. when artist 1 is working on arc 1, artist 2 should also be working on arc 2) to make sure everything is running smoothly.
