  • Question about The Road Back

It says it collects number 1 -8. Is this from vol 3??

Yup. Pretty much the only Hal bit of Vol.3 collected, except for Emerald Twilight.

That's probably what really cemented my fandom. From then on I started collecting (before that I just had a few scattered v2 issues I loved).

Wise choice. Ganthet's Tale is excellent.

There might be one pretty good reason to buy The Road Back anyway, and that is if the artwork in your copies of issues 1-8 is smudged or obscured. In the final days of printing in Sparta Illinois, the quality of print paper took a deep dive (experiments with recycled paper, etc that didn't work out). Some of the art is greatly improved in new-process color on good print stock.

The power of will is found at the deepest level of your being. It's more than mere rules. It's a duty that you must honor.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled with $3 a book, but I have to admit the paper stock now is much, much better/more durable.
