Why even post the guide art? We all know how Grell drew GL in the 70s...and it wasn't like that!

Still, it will be cool for a done in one story and a trip down memory lane. And who doesn't like Mike Grell?!?

Some of the guide art is done by Dave Gibbons.

Gotta admit I cringed when I heard that Dennis O’Neil was one of the guys writting the GL Retro issues, going back to the HTH days is not something i'm looking forward to at all.

It says a "spacefaring thrill" so I doubt O'Neil will do any liberal preaching. He wrote GL issues before and after HTH, so this will probably just be a quick fun romp. Which is all I'm looking for.

I loved the HTH stories (I read them in trades) they were some of the first Hal stories I read and I loved them so I am so glad Dennis O Neal is doing this I can't wait to see him story on this.

Also Mike Grell on this is pretty sweet =)

I'm gonna pick it up (Or try to) just because it's green lantern. I pretty much get anything that has the Green Lantern brand on it (Regardless of how it sucks), aside from that it's should pretty much be a fun throw-back to the older comics (Yes I have read HTH).

FUCK YES. Staton is a goddamned legend, and it's about time he got put back on some high-profile books!

Some of these other 80s oneshots sound pretty good too! Check out The Flash for instance:

DC RETROACTIVE: THE FLASH – THE ‘80s #1
The ‘80s were a decade that forever changed the Scarlet Speedster. Now telling a new story from that era will be the creative team of artist Greg LaRocque and writer William Messner-Loebs.

Greg LaRocque was one of my favorite artists during Wally's run. Bringing him and Messner-Loebs together for it is a natural. On GL Wein and Staton is fine, but I usually think of Gibbons when I think of Wein's run.
