That's my objection to a word. I don't care for sports, but I can be engaged by a good sports story. But it's ridiculous to have a game where it's standard for one player to undo even a massively great performance by the other team. It may as well be a sport of two Seekers.

Yeah, I got to care about the main characters, Scorpius (Draco's son) and Albus. You can't quite learn as much about them in a screenplay as the original kids, but enough.

The only official Potter-verse books I haven't read are the monsters one and the Quidditch history. The latter would be a chore for me since I found all the Quidditch bits in the books a drag. On the other hand, if I read Magical Monsters, I'll feel compelled to have read them all. At any rate, I'd welcome an actual prequel novel.

So, I just finished and enjoyed Cursed Child. It definitely wasn't as good as the Rowling-only-penned novels, but I liked it and it was a quick, enjoyable read. I'm sure it's better to see as a play, but the benefit of reading it is that I got to picture the older characters as the movie actors. (Plus the effects are probably better in my head. ) My Mom is going to love that the play posits Neville's role in the wars as being crucial.
