Actually, my stepdad made me these cool wooden shelves in what used to be a closet in my den so none of my long boxes are stacked on top of each other. I just pull out the one I need and I'm set. The closet light is even still there so I can see what I'm filing. Pretty cool.

    BTW: what's your write-in friend's name?

I'm a pretty pathetic member. Actually, what's kept me away is what kept me from being an active member here until almost a year after joining---the board just looks so big, it's daunting.

At any rate, I might pick that mag up too. Not sure though, I really need some new long boxes for comics and I only have so much spare-purchases money per month.

Hey, Abin, had you seen about this mag coming out this week? Special article on BoF and another on Whale beside: http://www.previewsworld.com/Home/1/...emID=AUG121501

I love that kind of stuff. The fake trees and yellow brick road painted backdrop in Wizard of Oz look so fake in HD but also so beautiful. And ever since I was little I always thought of studio-fake woods (where the actors are all in a "clearing" and there's 5 trees behind them) as cooler and more welcoming than the real deal.

True fact: the real Chris Lee never casts a shadow. When he plays a mere mortal, they have to digitally add it.

I hate when they "fix" old films. I was glad to see that the Bond blu-rays actually chose to keep "errors," including one that can only be seen in hi-def (a mirror shot the crew in The Man with the Golden Gun).

LOL. I'm only casual compared to guys like you. I already have the Universal Frankenstein box set and have watched BoF several times, so more hard core than the average man on the street but it's not my favorite film of all time (though I understand how it could be for others).

How's that Bride blu-ray? Good transfer? What features? Do you think it's worth it for the more casual BoF fan?

Oh, the weather is perfection, as always. Our patented Doom cumulus cloud enhancer provides enough snow for Latverian children to play in, but at the same time, never too much to hamper the fine families of my country as they traverse and work. The Latverian Embassy in America has informed me that Doomtech still outweighs Starktech in quality, potency, and volume. Doom may be a "villain" from time to time, but Tony Stark is still the biggest Douche on the planet.

    Yeah. That makes sense.
I was watching your posted movie and thinking he's fine for the part but this was the height of his popularity and "turbaned servant" isn't exactly the role of a lifetime. I haven't finished yet, though and he's obviously more involved.

Hey, Abin. I was just dozing off and this strange query popped into my head and I was thinking you might have an answer. I know Lugosi famously turned down Frankenstein, but besides that choice, when he was was super prolific in the 30s was Bela choosing his projects or would he have been more studio-bound ("Bela, you're doing our next picture about a killer scientist...")? When he was popping out several movies a year, touring, appearing, and what not, it's hard to imagine him really pouring over scripts and being picky.

Fantastic composer who is known by some on the boards, some know the songs because of writers like Alan Moore's use of things like "The Black Freighter", and others are probably thinking WTF.

So here's a primer for ya!

The swingy Bobby Darrin version was not the original, and completely lost the 'dark undertow',...

I wasn't sure if anyone had posted this before, so I thought I would just post it here.

My first blog is actually starting with some quotes from a thread that I was replying to for so long that a slew of other folk had already posted a ton of replies and I thought mine was sort of long winded, so I decided to stick it here.
