Top 10 Awaited Movies of 2011
1.) Green Lantern
Does this really need an explanation?
2.) Captain America
Not so happy with what I’ve seen so far but staying optimistic for one of my favorite comic book characters.
3.) Thor
The trailer looked nice so it earned a spot on the list.
4.) Priest
Looks cool. That’s really all the justification I have….
5.) The Green Hornet
The director of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and Seth Rogen make this a sure see for me.
6.) The Hangover 2
The first one was hilarious so I expect big things from this.
7.) Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom
It’s no secret that I love the first one and I eagerly await this ones arrival.
8.) Harry Potter and the Deadly Hollows: Part Two
Been a Harry Potter fan since the beginning and after seeing the footage for these movies, that doesn’t seem to be changing.
9.) The Rum Diary
Johnny Depp in another Hunter S. Thompson adaptation.
10.) Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Liked the other ones so this one gets a look.
Honorable Mentions
Cowboys and Aliens- Just interested.
Transformers 3- More of something to laugh and make fun of.
Sucker Punch- Visually looks nice. Doesn’t appear to have a story.
I Am Number Four- Just looks…weird
Rise of the Apes- James Franco and monkeys…I’m there!
Cowboys & Aliens - Have you actually read the comic book? The plans for this movie... differ, to say the least.
Sucker Punch - "Set in the 1950s, it tells the story of Baby Doll (Browning), who is trying to hide from the pain caused by her evil stepfather and lobotomy. She ends up in mental institution in Brattleboro, Vermont, and while there she starts to imagine an alternate reality. She plans to escape from that imaginary world but to do that she needs to steal five objects before she is captured by an unknown adversary. She has 5 days to escape before being lobotomized. In order to cope with the situation, she enters the hyper-real world of her imagination, and the lines between reality and dream begin to blur. She is joined with friends who are inmates from the institution. Lessons learned in the said fantasy world could help the girls escape their real-world fate."
I Am Number Four - Be wary of this one, too. This is Gough & Millar, and, while I'll always respect them for their work on Smallville, their OTHER credits include Herbie: Fully Loaded, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and The Hannah Montana Movie. Need I say more?
