These are my all time favorite stories from DC Comics. I just want to state that even though I'm enjoying Blackest Night more than most stories, I will not be listing it since it's not finished. Even though their numbered, these stories all rank together as my favorite so don't take the number position seriously.
1.) Final Crisis
Grant Morrison's story about the end of existence was loved by some but even hated by more, which is a shame. This is one of the most daring and thought provoking superhero epics out there that deserves another chance due to the fact that the heroes have to use their minds instead of their fists to save humanity.
2.) Green Lantern: Rebirth
The return of Hal Jordan was the second comic to make me a hardcore DC follower. The art is gorgeous and John's writing is great.
3.) Ronin
Frank Miller's futuristic tale of a master less samurai (a Ronin) sent from the past to once and for all defeat his enemy, Agat, is a great sci-fi story that supplies some great art from Miller.
4.) Sinestro Corps War
The second part of Geoff John's "War of Light" trilogy ups the anti and paves the way for everything leading into Blackest Night. I think enough has been said about this story line to merit a look.
5.) Infinite Crisis
My first Crisis! The first issue of this series hit the stands about a month after I started collecting everything I could from DC. I loved the story (even though then it didn't make much sense to me but it's now crystal clear) and all the artist did great, besides maybe some panels in issue seven.
6.) Identity Crisis
The first book that made me a huge fan of DC. Instead of a villain killing off relatives, we got a friend with good intentions going about it the wrong way. A great murder mystery and the book that ignited my love for Ralph Dibney.
7.) 52
The series that started after Infinite Crisis and filled the void left by One Year Later, this series saw some awesome story lines that only fueled the love I had for DC Comics even more.
8.) All Star Superman
An all around great story which is complimented by beautiful art, this story line showed me a lot of respect for the Man of Steel that I had never had.
9.) Batman: The Man Who Laughs
This story was awesome! The first appearance of the Joker as Batman tries to stop this new threat. This book leads off were Batman: Year One ended. Great art by current GL artist Doug Mahnke only makes it better.
10.) Batman: R.I.P.
Even though this storyline had a pretty lame ending that didn't really sync up with Final Crisis, this story still blew my mind. After years and years of watching Batman destroy his villains plans, William Hurt finally breaks the Dark Knight down by attacking his mind, his greatest strength. This leads to Batman syncing into a crazed state that only leads him to a final confrontation with his newest enemy and his greatest enemy.

Identity was great for the most part. Some rough art by Rags sometimes, and some ridiculous(or unbelievable) action scenes but its still a good read
