Aladdin was an awesome game, and the SEGA version was the best. All those Disney games back then were great.

Which unfortunately is becoming a reoccurring theme this gen. It seems like these big companies just shit out broken games without a flying fuck. Don't worry those dumb ass gamers with giant pre-orders will still buy the game no matter what, I bet that's what the suits say and sadly they're right.

I mean shit, when is the last time you bought a game and on day one of you putting it in your console it didn't immediately start downloading some massive patch? That's why disks games DVD or Blu Ray are worthless now, the actual game you get on the disc is broken, unplayable or missing features. I read Evil Within on consoles without any patches runs at 20fps lol.

What happened to days of just getting a full working game on disc/cart? That's why it wont even matter when things go full digital. The line between console and PC has been blurred which probably explains my reasoning for not being into consoles much anymore. It will suck 10 years from now when Sony/MS pull those patches from existence, and you won't be able to play that PS3/4 or XBOX360/1 game because all you have is the physical DVD which ain't worth shit really.

At least on PC I know I can go dig up some game from 20 years ago and find the patch to make it work, how will that work on consoles I wonder? Well it probably won't. It won't be like buying a SNES and then just putting MK in and I'm good to go. Naa first you got to get that 15gb patch son

I just wish gamers in general weren't just collectively dumb, it's not ok at all for such things to be happening.

These days you really have to research what you're buying, otherwise you will feel like a chump, while some suit is counting his/her last giant bonus. It reminds me of that character Angry Joe does. I bet that's what is going on at Ubisoft right now lol.

While this may be true for Unity, last-gen's Rogue got a relatively glowing review from Matt Miller in the latest Game Informer. He gave it an 8.5 and said that although it copy-pastes a fair few things from previous games, it has a wide and varied set of missions, solid design, dated-but-serviceable mechanics/animations, and it closes out the America saga so that players don't have to go back to it after playing Unity.

There's no dedicated multiplayer (not like I care), but you have so much to do that you won't mind.

I'll probably put this on my Christmas list.

Same could be said of the Xbox 360: I've had mine since launch, and it only broke once, but I've met guys who have gone through six.

Unity may not be unplayable, but it has some real flaws to it.

                    • Just now finished watching a walkthrough of Dead Space. Very nice, although despite a pretty intelligent design, it falls victim to genre tropes here and there. I found it quite annoying that it is very dark or pitch-black in some areas, and I think that while it is a horror game and being sightless can be frightening, it can also ruin an experience.

Overall, though, the visuals were top-notch, and the acting was very solid. Script was well done also. I found the plot to be quite satisfying, and the enemies, the necromorphs, were suitably grotesque and intimidating (though they became clearly an annoyance due to some moments of "let's cram a bunch of monsters in here and force the player to go crazy").

Oh, and the lack of oxygen got old fast, especially when fighting necros.

I also appreciate the effort on the dev's part of the "secret message" in the chapter names. Quite clever of them, really.

I found the resource management to be kind of irritating. Yes, it's a key trait, picking your upgrades and inventory carefully (and I have to applaud the inclusion of a storage system in the store), but Jesus, they hit you with enemies enough to deplete your ammo repeatedly, even if you upgrade the damage enough to use less shots. Sheesh.

I should enjoy playing the second, though given that it and 3 are on two discs, I'll probably get the third on PS3 instead of 360. Just need to find a good vendor and price.

Also, Unitologists are dickholes. That is all.

It certainly has problems, I don't know how many patches it's got so far to fix issues. I watched TB play it on PC and it did not run good, I've heard the same for consoles too, but if it's working ok for you then cool, hope you don't get the same crashes and bugs.

                          Altman Be Praised!

In Dead Space when you get good aka when you've played it so many times, you develop the plasma cutter/slow mo/ stomp technique, in the end I have way too much ammo even on hard settings when I do this. It's a bit harder when theirs a group attack, but no way should you be using ammo on single enemies. I always power up stasis first, very helpful indeed.

If you liked the story in part 1, I absolutely recommend you watch Dead Space Extraction play through, imo it's the 2nd best story in the series and is closely tied to the first game.

Doubtful I'll touch it. I have a ton of things to get through as it is (goddamn, I love RPGs, but they're so involved!). I probably won't even watch the Dead Space animated film, either.

                            • Ahh that's too bad, but I can understand RPG's taking up your time. I finished the original Deus Ex the other day, it took me 51hrs to beat, but damn I loved being in that cyberpunk world.

                              • Hey, at least I just read the Wikipedia overview of Extraction. Too bad the game didn't sell better, but at least it got a port for more exposure on a high-profile system.
