I agree with everything you said. In addition, I think they should have stuck with their original plan to film Kills and End back to back. I know Covid played a part in why that didn't happen but Ends should have been set on Halloween night 2018. The time jump and the shift in story and character arcs from Kills to Ends is so jarring. This trilogy was as poorly planned out as the Star Wars Disney sequel trilogy. I'm fine if we don't get anymore Halloween films with Michael Myers and would rather watch the Halloween anthology series John Carpenter intended to make. Carpenter's scores for these films are still good and are highlights of this trilogy.

I forgot to mention the main thing that bothered me about Halloween Ends is that it was a remake of John Carpenter's Christine (1983) except without the car.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised when the movie jumped ahead.

          "Family."

Every once in a while, I find a rare gem on Tubi. This is one of them.

I've always been aware of the Nazi sub genre in horror films, and I think this definitely qualifies. Survivors in a raft off a Nazi-bombed hospital ship run into....wait for it...a Nazi ship, and since it's their closest means of survival, they board it. Unfortunately, they don't know what's lurking in the lower decks and I'll let you guys find out for yourselves. You might not be surprised, but I think you will be impressed by the look, the story, the individual survivors' personalities, and the aesthetics of the big bad culprit(s).

Definitely worth a watch for you "children of the night... and what music you make."

I think you'll like it, but do tell us what you think when you see it.

Personally, I wasn't crazy about the very end, but everything else washed it out.

Yeah, I liked it. It wasn't amazing, but it was pretty good for its budget. Good story. I thought the main threat looked a bit on the goofy side. SPOILERS: The ending was a bit annoying. Sinclair should've figured out what she meant by not being able to go. He knew she was bitten. He knew bitten people turn. He knew she threw away the crucifix. He knew the main vampires were locked in a released by someone after Jane went missing. He should've anticipated this. I would've liked if he had somehow killed her and the good guys won.

Basically, after everything the hospital crew had been through, I just wanted a positive ending. Like even if there were no survivors. With all that blood in the water, a shark should have taken her out as far as I'm concerned. I guess the film makers had something different in mind. I could see an interesting sequel to this, but I'm not betting on it.

Interesting. We both had the same reaction--it shouldn't have ended that way. There are movies that earn that kind of ending, but I didn't feel this was one of them.

I was really waiting for a shark.

The set up was perfect; they were both in the sea, blood everywhere, he was sinking, and she was splashing around as if it was a plea for help. All we needed was a decent size Blue Pointer and BAM the threat has been eliminated. Normally, I expect these kind of endings in horror films made today just to get another movie in motion, but this hospital crew had earned some kind of righteous ending, even if they didn't all survive to see it. It was kind of an emotional thing given that it was happening during WWII, these poor souls were working on a hospital ship (already having seen tons of death, plus the deaths of the other shipmates that got bombed by some Nazi Dick) and *then* they to deal with something altogether scarier than what they've seen in real life. I really felt bad for the Russian for some odd reason.

I didn't think the new take on the design was goofy, though. Pretty interesting, actually. I get sick of seeing Fright Night copycats most of the time.

                      Anyways, onto the next movie:

                      The Frankenstein Theory (2013).

This was an ok movie. Even better when it was called "The Blair Witch Project."

Seriously, though, I never cared for those "found footage" films, and this just adds to the pile of crap. I've seen all sorts of Frankenstein's Monster films, good and bad, and the premise for this movie would have been interesting if not for the way it was made. It was a cheap movie to begin with, and the lead actor didn't strike me as actually believing his lines. I was most impressed with the Canadian. The basic premise is this: a college "professor" (yeah right) is obsessed with the idea that Mary Shelley based her work of fiction off his family's work of fact, and he's out to prove it by finding the creation in question. Moral of the story: be careful what you wish for. I do like how the kid finds facts to support his position though, starting with letters in his family chest.

                            • A Dark Path (2020)

I watch movies all the time; way more than I list here, but when I find something worth talking about, I'll bring it to our collective attention. Ladies and Gentlemen, I made a mistake. I *thought* this was going to be a good British Indie movie, but I was sorely mistaken. There was a bit of a promising lead-up to the ending....THAT NEVER CAME. Basically, 2 sisters get lost on their way home (reading maps must be an AP class in merry ole' England) from a party, leading them down this dark, no electricity dirt road (by this time, 99.9% of us would have turned around and figured out our mistake by the time we see a dirt road), and of course a tire pops, and the spare has no air....all the common low drudgery tropes of a bad horror flick, screaming, bitching and blame ensue, then they take a nap. One sister is missing. The other spends 20 minutes of the film trying to figure out what to do.

Well.....fast forward to the last 10 minutes, and we find a "handsome" critter killing off the lost people, of which there are two more. The sisters reunite, get in the other couple's car and start hauling ass....which brings them face to face with 2 critters. AND THEN IT ENDS. Wtf? It literally ends right as they see the critters through the windshield. After 70 minutes of foreplay, NOTHING. I felt raped and ripped off. I was Hella pissed, but that's what I get for watching all these low budget horror movies on Tubi.

So if you really want to be disappointed, watch it. I don't recommend it, but hey, it's your life.
