Halloween Ends (2022)
Much more solid effort than Kills, it is the definitive End and delivers as much, so no tomfoolery at the end teasing us there might be more. This is a very stripped down, no fanfare, "what you see is what you get" type of film, and maybe that might be its most negative aspect; there could have been a few more fireworks and explosions to keep it from being a tad mundane.
I'm not entirely sure why this new character whom accidentally killed the young boy in the beginning was introduced or even necessary to the movie... although Laurie gives a speech about "the evil inside of us" and all that, neither the character nor her speech explain exactly what possessed Michael to kill his own sister at such a young age way back in the '78 movie, and that was what I was kind of looking for. For a brief moment, I thought the radio tower might have something to do with it, but that turns out to be a dead end. One thing for sure, when I first saw the junkyard metal ripper, I knew it would play a critical part in the film. Called it!
But overall, I give this a solid B as a grade. It was entertaining, it delivered on its promise, and it now gives Kills a purpose as a movie.

Re-watched both of these (thanks to my local library) thanks to Talking About Tapes' videos putting me in the mood:

I even liked the idea of the copy cat psycho, but I don't think they did it well and nor that it made for a satisfying conclusion to a trilogy. It's also weird that Laurie was paranoid when she was safest and unjustly happy and peaceful when he murdered and was at large.
I have to watch Kills again to see the segway into this movie. Then I might understand better why Michael was in a sewage drain.

The Grudge (2020)

“I can still feel them with me.”
—Didn't love this, but liked it more than I expected. I had heard it was a remake, but it really fits with the general continuity (which Wikipedia verified).
Candyman (1992)

"They will say that I have shed innocent blood. What's blood for if not for shedding?"
—Watched again for its 30th anniversary. I thought about skipping this because I didn't think I was in the mood (it's a pretty depressing movie), but it is really good.Last edited by Space Cop; 10-21-2022, 12:03 PM.

I thought the copycat killer was fine i mean afterall they do exist. Now that i had time to let it process i realize in this we get to see how cory is shaped into becoming a killer between a town labelling him for a accident and his homelife with his mother wile Michael had no reson and just is evil . Whats more scarrier a killer with motive or without motive?Last edited by Space Cop; 10-20-2022, 01:23 PM.

—25th anniversary. No, it’s not worth celebrating, but I got it cheap on DVD years ago and have only seen it a couple times, so it seemed a fine choice for the season.

I never followed her, and aside from her fling with DeGeneres, I would never guess she had so many problems going on with her family or her body of work, which is quite impressive. (Just read her wiki article). Hopefully she is at peace now.Last edited by Space Cop; 10-20-2022, 01:24 PM.

The gore in this is on steroids and one particular scene i gagged wich is rare so if you cant handle gore or didnt like the first one skip it. David howard thorton is amazing giving us a new horror icon in art the clown. I want one more . In this we get a story on the new girl sienna who is fucking awesome. I want to know what art the clown is so hopefully we get answers in the next one.................................................. ..........................
