  • Not really. Its not that complex of a story, but you really should just start from the beginning.

I debated that, but didn't for some reason. It was interesting this time to see how much #4 and 5 reveals about Han. When he says he has enough money and Dom talks about when he rolled with him, it all makes more sense.

Actually, for most of them, this was my first time watching them again at all, so I haven't developed a method yet.

Right. You'll miss little character references, but they give you enough info to catch up. #3 takes place after all of them continuity-wise, so you don't need to see that at all except to know who Han is. Also, the story essentially shifted in #4. 1 and 2 set everything up, but the stories became big team action movies starting with #4.

I'm going with some guys tonight to see #6. I only waited this long because to find some other people to go.

I agree with the consensus. You'll enjoy the action just as much if you hadn't seen the others, but it'll be more enjoyable if you understand the little references and ribbing. I would advise you to start from the beginning.

This was classic Tarrantino. Great performance by Jaime Fox, which is a long way from his days from appearing on In Livin' Color.

          • There's also a lil short on you tube called los bandoleros which sets up the beginning of part 4. And the short for part 2

OK, thanks. I really had no interest in the franchise until recently because movies that center around vehicles/racing hold no appeal for me. However, Rock is in my group of "I'll watch anything if he/she is part of the cast". But I wasn't going to bother if I was going to be lost by bypassing the first 4 movies.

I just saw Iron Man 3, 9.5/10. This was the best of IM flicks, and I had very few criticisms. I wouldn't put it in the Dark Knight/Avengers category of greatness, but probably in my top 5 comic book adaptations.

                  "Do I smell baby oil?"

Not bad. Not the best. And as West said, I wish they'd get back to street racing (although the London race was awesome).
Spoilers: I still don't know what I think of that tag ending. When they showed Tokyo I was really hopeful that they were going to have some lame excuse to save Han (they did it with Letty). And then Stratham pops up. I almost expected him to turn on that phone and someone say "I need a transporter." Oh why couldn't they save their coolest character? I admit Letty is better looking, but still ...

I fell asleep after the first 30 minutes for about 45 minutes. The parts of the movie I did watch I found entertaining.

However, like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I don't expect to watch this film multiple times.

LOL! Same here, and this was 2 weeks ago. I still haven't finished it. I feel asleep in anticipation of something happening... which didn't happen in the first 30 minutes. I'll have to give it another go over the weekend.

                      • Yeah, I think the action picks up near the 2 hour mark.

                        • I still can't believe Jackson is trying to make a trilogy out of that story. I read The Hobbit in middle school, and even in book form it's too much story. Can't even imagine how long-winded 8-9 hours worth of movie is...Sheesh.

As talented as Jackson is, he seems like he enjoys the smell of his own farts. Hire someone that will actually EDIT YOUR MOVIES. Fucking King Kong, that shit should have ended at about 30-45 minutes shorter than it did.

As much as it might seem that way, I'm almost certain it wasn't his call. I think it was the studio who ordered the three-part series, initially a two-part one if I remember correctly. That said, I'm sure Jackson didn't object. J.R.R. Tolkein has been giving Jackson work for well over the past decade.

Word! I've only watched Jackson's King Kong fully once.

I've seen the Hobbit animated movie when I was a kid and fully satisfied.
