This film posits Butch Cassidy surviving the Bolivian shootout (in a not totally implausible scenario) and 20 years later by chance teaming up with a young bandit. Pretty good (not great) Western.
"A wraith, man! A ghost! A evil spirit - and it ain't cool!"
This is one of those movies I don't know how I missed so long since it's right up my alley. A gang of drag racers terrorizes a small Arizona town, but when an alien-looking new car and new armored guy show up, could it be the resurrected spirit of one of their victims?
"Are you really as good as they all say you are?
-Every once in a while."
The cover is misleading in a couple ways: (1) Segal is not the main character, though he's not a totally minor one either; (2) Segal plays a sniper in it, but it's not a sniper movie. It's about a spec ops team that gets split up saving a senator and how the one side can get back to the other.
"Human beings simply aren't built to function at the cruising altitude of a 747."
Robo's post reminded me I wanted to see this. Great stuff. That helicopter pilot is a hero! If I were in the Beck family, he'd get a Christmas gift every year.
I thought I hadn't seen this, but I wasn't far into streaming it on Netflix when I realized I had (five years ago according to when I rated it on Netflix). Still, a pretty fun one. Kind of metafictional before Scream made that popular for slashers.
An excellent documentary about how the Barnes Institute's multi-billion dollar art collection was moved against the founder's express will by the work of a museum, millionaires, and politicians. Of course it's one-sided and undoubtedly some of the offending parties had good intentions, but it's an interesting look at how much of a big business the art world and non-profit organizations are and a look into how art is perceived, so I'd recommend it (as a friend did to me).
