Bad Santa (2003)
"What is it with you, anyway? Somebody drop you on your f***ing head?
-On my head?
Well, yeah. What, are they gonna drop you on somebody else's head?
-How can they drop me onto my own head?"
It's a Very Muppet Christmas Movie (2002)
" . . . and that's why I wear this funny green collar!"
A young woman wants to change the world, and when a strange pin shows her a future where anything is possible, she finds herself fighting to make it happen.
This film did poorly in theaters but I thought it was really very good. I love films that show the incredible potential of people manifested, where anything you imagine can become reality. This flick has a very serious message about not giving up on the future, where paying too much attention to something negative (specifically negative reinforcement and a "scared straight" policy) can have a horrific result on the world.
The city of Tomorrowland itself is absolutely beautiful, and it's a crying shame it isn't real. My dad was pretty stoked about the beginning of the film, where you see the 1964 World's Fair (I think he said my grandmother, his mom, went there).
The film has a lot of comedy, genius, and heart, and shows the clash of idealism against cynicism, of perseverance against despair. Maybe it didn't win any awards, but I think it's definitely worth checking out for a wonderful view of what's possible when great minds work together.
Oh, and Hugh Laurie is an asshole.

Room - Brie Larson better win Best Actress at every award show. She was great. This movie defines emotional. Fantastic stuff. And if Quvenzhane Wallis deserved award consideration for her Beasts of the Southern Wild performance, this the kid in this needs to sweep up because it was a million times better.
Nation Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
"When Santa squeezes his fat white a$$ down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of a$$holes this side of the nuthouse."
Operation Condor: Armour of God 2 (1991)
"African vampires don't like Chinese blood."
Silent Night, Deadly Night 4 (1990)
"With an attitude like that you're going to lose your job."
This film brings the Star Wars franchise back to the form of the original trilogy, which includes following the same formula as the original 1977 film. However, there are enough differences that set this film apart, and that's the new characters future story lines.
I believe this film started with the familiar as not to follow the path of the darkside that were the Prequels, but will change it's course as the franchise moves forward. I don't think we'll see another Death Star in future films.
This film was dynamic and pays wonderful homage to the original films. There's alot of energy in this film, from its direction to its performances. The Force has reawaken.

Die Hard (1988)
"We're gonna need some more FBI guys, I guess."
Die Hard 2: Die Harder (1990)
"Oh man, I can't f***ing believe this. Another basement, another elevator. How can the same s**t happen to the same guy twice?"
Talk about retcons. WOW! This movie retcons the franchise move than the TV show Sarah Connor Chronicles. And that's what this movie felt like to me, a TV show to retcon the story for the sake of making more episodes. Jai Courtney just doesn't work for me as Kyle Reese. To me, Courtney comes off as a meat head.
I had low expectations going into this movie from all the bad buzz and I think it's worthy of it.
