Fast & Furious 7 (2015)

"You're not that charming, b***h!"

I liked it. At this point, it's not actually the ridiculous nature of the stunts that stretch my suspension of disbelief (they are about on par with James Bond), though, so much as the ridiculous conceit that no one is hurt in collateral damage.

Anyway, the tribute was nice, though a little more heavy handed than I was expecting. I'm curious whether I'll still be touched when I'm watching it the third or fourth time or just ready to be done. I'm glad they did it, though.

Into the Storm (2014)


"Flaming pool of death!"


A series of increasingly-powerful tornadoes wreak havoc on a small town you've never heard of, and a small family and a team of storm-chasers must work together to survive the unsurvivable.

And there are two rednecks.

And this isn't a 2014 rehash of Twister.




...Okay, it is.

There is a LOT of camera POV stuff, since the storm-chasers are doing exactly that and the small family is doing a graduation project for time capsule videos in the middle of their high school graduation.

The visuals are pretty damn good even if it heavily reminds you of Twister. You get to see so much shit torn to nothing and thrown around (yes, including goddamn airliners) that it's impossible not to be impressed.

Oh, and one tornado catches on fire.

It's short, less than 90 minutes, and that's for the best. Worth a rent.

Such a good documentary; they don't pull their punches as to how far this guy's fallen from grace, but it's still such an interesting look into a life I had no idea this guy led, both before and after his run in the WWE.

Furious 7



The title "Furious 7" sounds like an old Kungfu flick or the sequel to be Big Hero Six.

I really like this film as it was unapologetic over-the-top sequences, which was much like alot of 80s action films. The scandal

Fitting tribute to Paul Walker.

I definitely felt that Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson were underused. Kurt Russell was a fill in for the Rock's role for most of the movie; however I kept thinking the Russell's character would turn bad or betrayal Dom and crew.

The random scantily clad women reminded me of a video game or a Michael Bay movie. The scene from Abu Dhabi reminded me of Sex and the City 2. Definitely need add an Asian driver to the team since Han died.

For Dwayne, I know that's because of his filming of Hercules interfered with Furious 7's schedule. If Hercules hadn't wrapped when it did, he wouldn't have been in the flick at all. I can't speak for Statham, though...
