According to a report form Drew McWeeny over at Hitfix.com, multiple sources have confirmed that Star Wars Episode VII is set to start shooting in mid-May and will run through September of this year. Most of the principal casting is complete, which means the next three months will be filled with news regarding each and every little bit of casting (watch this space!)
According to the report, just about everyone is coming back, including possibly Billy Dee Williams as Lando, who up until recently was thought to possibly not be returning. The report doesn’t clarify if “everyone” also includes Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca and Kenny Baker as R2-D2, although it’s likely both of those characters are coming back. In fact, It is confirmed that Artoo will be in it, and although he is mostly remote controlled or CGI in the prequels, they all had at least one shot where it was Kenny in a suit, pretty much just so it can say “Kenny Baker as R2-D2″ in the credits for old times’ sake. Will JJ do the same? We shall see. If all goes according to plan, Star Wars: Episode VII opens on December 18th, 2015.
I want to get a complete series boxset on bluray for Clone Wars for my collection, but now they've done this bullshit where there are 13 final episodes NOT in the big boxset they just released. what the hell? Now I have to wait until this exclusive Netflix contract has run its course...and HOPE that they get around to doing another boxset that DOES have everything. Fuckers.
