  • Green Lantern Art Contest!

    It's time to kick off our very first contest.

    Green Lantern Art Contest
    =================
    Begins: Sunday, August 26th 2007
    Concludes: Friday, September 7th 2007

    Details...

    Create a single piece of Green Lantern-related (and Green Lantern-centric) fan art and post it/link it from this thread. Though the artwork can be "inspired" by existing (official) Green Lantern art it must be entirely an original piece of art. It can be in any form -- be it pencil, oil pastel, painting, computer-generated, and in either color or black & white. It must also be a new piece of art (not something you take out of a drawer from 5 years ago). Also include a brief description of your work.

    At midnight (PST) on September 7th, the contest will conclude and voting will commence.

        If I, lacking artistic abilities, may make a suggestion, it'd be cool to see a usually no-ring using character as a GL.. like Matt Murdock, Charles Xavier, etc. Though the real coolness will be in seeing the classics!
        And of course, a lot of ring-slingin' action, cool constructs, sinestro corps battles, etc.
        Oh, I'm just geeking out by the great things you're all probably gonna come up with!!

              Thanks for the compliment, I have always been a huge fan of GL, but Johns brought me back big time. He's made Hal and company really exciting again.

              These boards are going to fun to explore.

                        That's very nice work! I like it! I can pencil and ink, but have zero experience coloring or using any programs. Kind of ig'nant on it, if I have a piece I've penciled and inked, how would I go about coloring something I like enough want to use something better than coloring pencils?

                          I think you need to go the electronic route here, Dave, so you dont have all those lines.

                            Yeah, but you don't need to color it to enter it.
                            You can turn it in as black & white.
                            Do good. Be well. Make happy.
