  • I bought this from some vendor on the convention floor:

Apparently, it was posted on the net by a jilted ex or something. Either way, she was quite upset when she saw the photo and reluctantly signed it. She told me it was illegally circulated on the net and asked what booth I bought it from. Of course I wouldn't have memorized the number. I just shrugged my shoulders and said, "Sorry..." She said "it's not your fault" but still. Her eyes said otherwise.

Aside from any photo you brought for them to sign, they additionally signed a mini poster they were giving away... and everything was free.

NYCC was unbelivably crowded and reminded me of the SDCC. It was hard to navigate from one section of the floor to the next. In addition, it was even harder to move since I had my wife with me who is under 5 feet tall. I was going to punch one guy out because he bumped into her and didn't say "excuse me."

If I ever went back, I couldn't take my wife as she's just not into this stuff. Even though I met Morena, Laura and Jane, I left the con feeling kind of empty because I didn't get anything done comic related... and missing that GL panel really chapped my hyde. I spent most of the time taking photos with people and at one point, I took my glasses off because I didn't want anyone to recognize me. Didn't work.

    • By the way, a girl from the SDCC contacted me on Facebook and wants to be Trinity to my Morpheus for the SDCC 2k11. Would you mind doing Seraph again, Primus? She said she has some guy that would do a photoshoot of us. All we need is a Neo.

      • Sounds like you won't go back to NYCC based upon the crowds and your empty feeling. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your blog and the pics of the hotties.

I'll be down with being Seraph again, eventhough it means cutting back on the cheeseburgers and getting my fat gut to the gym.

        • Well, it's hard to do only one day of a convention and feel satisfied. Plus, I don't know if I can justify flying across the country without my wife... and she's not into crowds or comics. She was a trooper, but didn't care for most of the experience. In addition, she probably bit her tongue and cheek when females wanted to take pics with me and hug me. She hates when I get attention from wearing a simple jersey so this had to be eating her alive.

I'll probably do separate blogs on NY and NYCC. Just need to find a photo hosting site that's not going to give me malware like Photobucket.

That's interesting. At least she signed it. Probably the professional thing to do would've been to just keep it to herself, but I guess she was irritable.

            • Imageshack sucks. I have an account and have all kinds of issues with it. Sometimes the links break (why my sig periodically vanishes) and their editing software is terrible. Photobucket would be great if not for the malware they refuse to acknowledge.

I don't have many problems with it, but ok.

                    http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/18557.html

                    NYCC Tops 95,000
                    also of note:

Next year’s NYCC is scheduled for the weekend of October 14-16.
                    &

We noted that San Diego Comic-Con has made a commitment to stay in that city until 2015 (see “Comic-Con Stays in San Diego”), capping its attendance at its current 125,000, and asked Fensterman whether that gives New York an opportunity to pass it in attendance.

                    • If they get a few more big name guests and a little more room they might pass SDCC.

                      • I def plan on going to NYCC in 2011. To the point where I am saving a little each pay check til then.

It sucked passing all this cool stuff and realizing my funds are limited. So next year I am bringing money and walking out like Larfleeze.

They had quite a few celebs in attendance. I'm hoping it doesn't get any bigger. The more people there are, the less fun the convention will be. You couldn't even walk on Saturday because there were so many people. Javits isn't big enough to accomodate a crowd that size. That's why I like the SF WonderCon better than the SD ComicCon. You can catch panels and meet stars, writers and artists without having the line cut off in front of you.

                          • Yeah, Friday is the best day for WonderCon. The crowd is very light and very easy to browse the vendor tables and shop.
