Believe it or not, I'm going to vote "No". I'm ready for the Indigo Tribe and Larfleeze to go away, and I never want to see Black Lanterns or Blue Lanterns again. However, I think Guy Gardner is cool as a Red Lantern, and Kyle is cool as a White one. I also don't have anything particularly against the Sinestro Corps, and I can tolerate Star Sapphires, even though I would like some things to be different about them. For instance, they shouldn't use rings or lantern shaped iconography at all. They should use gems in their headpieces, like the original concept.

That said, I don't want the Emotional Spectrum to ever be nearly as large or important as it was during Geoff Johns' run. I'm really happy to see GL and GLC break away from that.

There's use and then there's abuse.

What? No emotional spectrum? After all the possibilities and money it's generated over the last 5 years? For decades "Green Lantern" was it, apart from a crazy Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire and Sinestro's yellow power ring. Now we have a codified emotional spectrum, and you want to get rid of it?

I can see keeping Green Lantern Corps as the "main" Lanterns, perhaps 60% of all ringslingers, but the Sinestro Corps will always be around as 15% to kill Greens, with 5% of Reds, 1% of Blues, Larfleeze as the only Orange, 15% of Sapphires, and the rest as Indigos. Then there's Kyle the only White.

But get rid of the emotional spectrum? Never!

I'm certainly ready for any focus on it to go away. I'm ready for the term itself to go away. I'm not sure I'd say I want everything that was ever related to it to go away.

If Larfleeze and the Orange part of the spectrum completely disappeared, I'd be fine with that.

I very likely wouldn't miss the Indigo Tribe, either, if only because they were barely around most of the time, anyway.

I'm perfectly fine with Sinestro having a yellow ring and even trying to inspire fear, and maybe having a few followers that he grants rings to, but as a Corps the yellows only EVER made ANY sense as a tool for Sinestro to manipulate the Guardians with. Once that purpose was accomplished (and especially now that those Guardians are gone) I see no reason whatsoever for the Yellows to exist as an entire Corps.

I'm ready for the Reds to be gone, frankly. The title has certainly improved, but if Guy went back to being a Green and Atrocitus was dead and buried, I wouldn't be at all upset. They have grown on me enough that I would want them to have a conclusion written into their title, rather than just disappear quietly into limbo, but I'm fine with them being gone.

The Star Sapphires never made a LOT of sense as a Corps, but I guess they could stick around as some individuals. They already have a history as part of the GL Mythos (though it has been distorted beyond all recognition lately).

On the other hand, I always liked the Blues. Saint Walker is a cool character, and the Blues as a corps formed by a splinter faction of Guardians to support the Green Lanterns struck me as one of the least arbitrary among the new Corps concepts brought on by the advent of the Emotional Spectrum. I'd like to see Walker regain his Blue ring, and VERY slowly build up the Blue Lanterns again, perhaps even finding Ganthet along the way.

Get rid of it. Keep the GLC, Sinestro Corps, and the Zamorans with one Star Saphire. Jettison everything else. The characters from the other groups worth keeping can be absorbed as members of the green or yellow groups. Or get a different power entirely.

I want an embargo on Spectrum stories for at least three years. No Sinestro. No Red Lanterns. No Sapphires, Larfleeze, Indigos, Blues, Blacks or Whites. At all. After that time (or more), let it have an impact if any of those characters returns. Let it be an "Oh shit, what's happening here" reveal. And then use the spectrum very, very sparingly. Like, once every two years or so. Focus on the countless other antagonists of the franchise, and create new ones.

I say use a mix of E.S and classic villains, but for now a lot less E.M and more modern villains.

Never should've been created in the first place.

I like the E S and think its a good idea but i wouldnt mind seeing a solid GL story for a while without the E S being used...

This is pretty much how I feel. The ES itself isn't what bothers me, it's how overly used it has been in the past, what, 5 years now. Time to consolidate the spectrum for awhile, let other ideas come into fruition. Get it all back to green for a little while. Then you can introduce other corps after a period of time and not have it feel stale.

Get rid of it. Keep the Sinestro Corps and Fatality as a Sapphire, but that's it... and get rid of the entities too. Green Dolphins, Yellow Bugs, Red Bulls, Blue Diamonds and Purple Horseshoes... It's like Lucky freaking Charms, but they're magically shitty.

I'm still wondering how will was passed as a emotion. Nobody in the think tank said, "Hey! Wait a minute!!"

Like some others here, I'm of two minds on it.
First off, I did not need it and I still could live without Larfleeze and the Indigoes. However, I like the Sinestro Corps and right now I'm digging Red Lanterns with Guy and (I know it's short lived) Kara. I also like Walker and I like Carol (at least sometimes) being a Sapphire. I don't see a way to realistically keep those but ditch just the Indigo and Orange, so I guess I have to say "no."
That said, while the spectrum is still there, the interplay between them is very minimal in the current story lines.

All of the multicolor corps concepts could work very easily without the ES. The spectrum is nothing but a handicap, and always has been.

I think at its core it is a coolideal. However I am in the camp of it needs a rest. I think everyone needs to go and try to rebuild thier armies, and stay outta the lime light. I am hoping Sinestro's book will be about him personally selecting some new members who are just super cool. I would also like to see Guy as a yellow ring wielder for a while. Develope un uneasy truce between him and Sinestro. Or something that would be shock value he joins because he thinks they will be the winning team. Wouldn't that be something?
Just until we decide where Guy is going to anchor down.

I think that is what the GL franchise needs. A good story to shift focus, from the mistakes and buy the creative teams to sit down and decided where the Green Lantern Mythos is going to go.
Take life with a Grain of salt and a shot of tequila!

I think something else to keep in mind and a lot of comic book fans miss this, you can not focus on something and still have it be around. Just stop telling ES focused stories. They can be around but simply don't tell stories involving them at all. Just move on from them and bring them out later on down the line if need be.
