No, it's just a matter of taste.

Fun fact. Back in the 60s some sound engineers tried to take multi-tracks of Beatles recordings and overlay the vocals perfectly. They found out that the computer couldn't do it better than they did naturally. John, Paul, and George had perfect harmony.

Doesn't mean I have to like their music though.

Nobody is saying you have to like their music. We're saying that suggesting they are the equivalent of a modern day "boy band" is stupid.

Some people just perceive music differently in their brains.

(For the record I like the Beatles)

                    Some people are wrong.

                    • Wow, I really didn't mean to hijack this thread. LOL!

But I'll make my closing argument with a classic from Martin, Sherman, and Damone:

BTW, Beatles fans, no hard feelings. Enjoy whatever you like.

They were they boy band of their day. Or at least the closest to it.

Exactly. Were they young when they started? Absolutely. But they were no flash-in-the-pan boy band. They stayed on top of the charts for 8 years (and resurfaced as #1 30 years later), they influenced music, fashion, and other arts. They were the first to play a stadium. They were the first to have a full-time traveling press entourage. They had two very successful films. And the band was clearly different between Please Please Me and Rubber Soul (let alone The White Album). I can guarantee their reputation and their music will outlive 98 Degrees, whoever this One Direction is, and all the Beatles detractors for that matter.
