  • Complete Sinestro Corps War TPB

I was just wondering if people think that a deluxe edition of Sinestro corps war (v.1/v.2 together) is likely?

I haven't been a comic book reader for a long time, but of the GL i have read, this story is by far the best John's has writen IMO.

I just feel like this story is deserving of this kind of treatment (if not absolute, although i feel only Reis art would benefit from this size) and it would be nice to have it all in one book.

    Thanks in advance.

    I wouldn't be surprised.

Deluxe doesn't really add pages/issues to the collection though does it? I thought the only difference between Deluxe and regular hardcovers were the bigger pages not an increase in story.

I guess they could do an absolute edition; the added incentives would be the oversized pages, and some padded supplimental material about the making of the arc with the usual scripts, rough drafts, pencil sketches, etc.

The problem with doing a SCW absolute is that there isn't one artist doing most or all of the story. Absolutes work best when they are consistant with the creative teams; ie, Watchmen, All-Star Superman, V For Vendetta, etc. There was a lot of fillin work during SCW that is undeserving of the lavish format.

I'd still be down for one. Have the complete arc, along with the extra one-shots. Big Deluxe set up like Rebirth Absolute. Hell of a story deserves a great collection.

Gleason's art is terrible enough in regular comic size.

In an Absolute, it would look absolutely horrendous.

The fact that Gleason's art is actually bad to some people kind of blows my mind. I think it's pretty damn good, but he does have his flaws.

On the subject, I'd love an Absolute SCW. I'd love to hear about some of the plot points that didn't make the cut, along with seeing some of the original sketches, scripts, etc.

I just re-read GLC 16, look at the panel at the top of page 8 and tell me that's good art.

Not knocking you for liking him, because people like who they like.

But to me, his work is amateurish most of the time.

Talking about the one with Wog and Arkillo being flung by an explosion? Cause if so, I can understand that panel not being the most detailed thing in the book.

I'm just not a fan of his art. Very cartoony looking.

Sinestro Corps should have gotten the Absolute treatment, and not Rebirth. Speaking of Green Lantern, why has DC not given Green Lantern/Green Arrow: Hard Traveling Heroes, the absolute treatment?

You talking about the two manhunters or Kyle?

                          Or the whole page?

                              I'd definitely pick that up!

At the very least they could put in the special one-shots in reading order...

The trades also have a little of that...like Parallax was supposed to take over John and Guy too...
