The guardians used to be written as all knowing fatherly figures who used their billions of years of experience to help the galaxy, they even once helped show superman that he was hindering people by giving them a fish instead of teaching them how to fish...so to speak. hiding that all life started on eath could be deemed another mistake.

Ganthet made only one big mistake in his entire career.
He re-aged the Guardians.
Ever since he aged them all up to their immortal old biddy selves they've been screwing up left and right.
The original Guardians were way more together than that. Oh they still screwed up but for the most part they had the best intentions.

They feel like a typical Crichton novel, as much as you try to control your creation it's the unexpected chaos that's going to end up biting you.

Wait, what? I've read every GL issue there is, and I don't remember the Central Power Battery being COMPLETELY destroyed before he entered it during ET (which wasn't the first time he had entered it, or even the second). When did that happen? I remember at the end of Vol. 2 it was decimated, but stabilized so that it could provide power for a VERY small number of rings. I remember it being under attack a few times, too. I just don't remember total destruction until ET. I don't doubt I could have forgotten some "destruction" somewhere that was fixed by the end of the issue, but it isn't coming to mind...

The guardians also left gls on apokolips and then signed a treaty with darkseid......never a good idea.
