  • Katma Tui Lives Again!

I recently discovered that the Earth of Batman:In Darkest Knight has been officially designated Earth-31 of the new multiverse. This Includes a Katma that was never killed by SS carol Ferris to influence the relation ship between Haal Jordan and John Stewart because on this earth,Selina Kyle is Star Sapphire, and the GL Corps of Earth are a newly-formulated Wonder Woman,Superman and Flash. An alternate Two-Face ,Joker-esque Sinetro and Oans with a repuation for brutality,Arisia and Tomar Re also Appear.

Katma can appear in DC comics stories taking place in contemporary times any time DC Comicswants or people ask for it without any need to damage what people like about John or Hal of our own Earth.Imagine if this Katma were to meet Earth-1's Batman,GLs,Star Sapphire,Earth-31heroes ther than GL Bruce"the Emerald Knight"Wayne,or anyone else for that matter.

    Personally I hope not.

    World-hopping characters leads to confusion.

Like that mess of a story that was Countdown.

I hope that doesn't happen. I'm not a fan of dimension swapping. If Katma was to return, it should have been during Blackest Night/Brightest Day.

Why would they ever want to ressurrect Katama by bringing in such an obscure version of the character? Darkest Knight wasn't even that good. It started off well enough, but ended by becoming the GL answer to the Amalgam universe.

If they wanted to resurrect her, they could somehow bring her back to life. It doesn't seem to be on the agenda. After all this time, I'd rather move on. I wouldn't object to her being brought back, but I'd just rather they move on.

                  reply to gauntlet

Actually it need not be that version, just as long as its a version. One with a Katma from any one of the now 52 universesa permanent return, and they can move on as quickly as they want. There is the Nail/Another Nail universe, but the simplest one th choose is the universe-32.Also.this Katma is one who does not know Hal or John or Carol and whose Oans have a reputation for brutality.

Do you realize the continuity errors that would result in an alternate Katma coming to our universe?

What that would do to John?

                    The CONFUSION?

Katma Tui is dead. Let her stay that way.

And the reason for this would be? So John can find his ex-wife alive and well, but wait a minute this version is not his wife and has never met him. Or have Hal and Carol (maybe, if she remembers) talk about they are sorry she died, but she was never killed? This just seems like a waste of time, bringing a character who as some significance to the GL mythos, but not the real character just someone with the same name and a different back story.

                        Good way of putting it.

She need not actually meet him again, and if she does all the reader needs to do to prevent confusion is take notes.I've considered all three of those points and have decided this would make more challenging and stimulating reading.Especially if the Katma in question is one who never met the Earth-1 heroes. Also,I think John would not be adversely affected in terms of toughness at all.
There is also the fact that this is my my favorite character and if all the other characters that have been brought back from the dead ,regardless of effect on contemporary storylines, then this one can be brought back too.
As I said there are 52 universe to take a new Katma from.

Mmm. Yes. Well. In Final Crisis,
The Bleed( The space between dimensions) was effectivly destroyed, meaning that Inter-dimesional travel is now impossible.

At least... So far. You never know when something is going to get retconned.
