Larflezze did appear to be bad ass in Agent Orange but he is revealed to be jus a greedy bastard who is only powerful when he's in controls and when things go South he runs away ala GL48 plus his antics are more enjoyable than Hal's one liners

Yes and no. He is more like what Gollum WOULD be if he had the One Ring, AND the ability to actually USE an impressive portion of its power. Gollum, as we saw him, was more pathetic than Larfleeze should be portrayed. Gollum was dangerous only because he was obsessed, treacherous and crafty. Larfleeze is all those things and powerful, too.

Take the Orange power away from Larfleeze, and the comparison to Gollum would be almost EXACT.

Some of that is assumption Ed. How is Larfleeze crafty? I'd argue that we don't know for a fact that he's treacherous either, but seeing Luthor's silly actions pretty much (re)starts the timer on that.

Well, as to treacherous, when he found the orange lantern, he wasn't alone. He killed his companions to take it. Now how much of that was the influence of the orange light, and how much was his own personality, we don't know, but the same is true of Gollum.

As to crafty, he certainly isn't being shown as crafty now, but he seemed, when we saw the Controllers coming to his place, to be crafty enough to draw them deep into his realm before taking them out rather viciously.
